My friend and I visited the beautiful island of St. Thomas in May 2012 for a week long “girl’s getaway”. We booked our trip through Cheap Caribbean and our agent Jason Eaves was awesome at meeting our needs as to what we were looking for in an all inclusive resort. Our stay at the Sugar Bay Resort & Spa was fabulous. The resort is centered in a beautiful area of the island, amazing views, gorgeous... More

Ist I want to say is I'm not usually the one to write the reviews in our house and I have only recently began asking questions again. Well it's my turn to write the review. So here goes we take several trips a year from the United States to the Caribbean to Europe. we have had good luck and some not so good luck with hotels but none that have EVER ruined our vacation (... We are currently at the Sugar Bay and this is our last night. The pool was great, the lunch at the Mangrove spot was good. The nightly entertainment is very weak. Tonight, which is Thursday, was great but the rest of the nights there has been absolutely nothing going on.. forcing us to leave the resort to enjoy other activities. Another thing that was terrible was the nightly service at the Ocean Club Bar. They... More

We were there the last week of April into early May. Where to start, negative or positive... Positive: The views of ocean are spectacular! Great pool with a bar you can swim up to! Most of the waitresses were very nice. The iguanas and cats were a nice, unexpected added touch that adds to the charm of the place. Negative: All inclusive is a ripoff! Breakfast buffet is great, but the other meals are mostly... More

Our recent trip to Sugar Bay Resort and Spa required a sense of humor. The property is really very pretty but in need of management and funding. We spent the first night with no power with the smoke alarm screeching every time the power tried and failed to come back on. Our second night we spent with no air conditioning but joked that at least the smoke detector wasn't going off and on. The food... More

Overall this hotel was pretty good. Before booking with Sugar Bay Resort I read all the reviews and I was a little concern, however, it was not as bad as people had written. Upon check in Dante was really good nice friendly young man. Gave me and friends an upgrade to a Ocean view (worth it ). Both rooms where not ready when we arrived but I was in vacation mode so it did not... More

We just stayed at this hotel last week, 5/13 to 5/17/2012. It was awful and appears to be shutting down. They electricity goes off often. The spa was dirty, no clean towels, hot tub had things floating in it. The all-inclusive was a joke. We spent more on eating out than our trip. The food was awful, when on the rare occasion it was available. There are cats everywhere. Ducks swimming in the pool. And... More

We checked in today and are already having regrets. --We arrived at 4:30, an hour and a half after check in, and had to wait more than an hour before our room was ready. One of the friendly front desk staff eventually upgraded us from resort view to ocean view, which seemed like a fair trade to us. Except... --our room keys don't work. We've had them refreshed twice but to no avail. Waiting for... More

Our stay at the Sugar Bay Resort was great. After reading some negative reviews, I was a little leery about the property, but luckily, those concerns were unfounded! The resort itself is situated in a lovely area of the island. Our room was ready when we got there (we arrived before the standard check-in time) and was perfectly acceptable. We didn't have an ocean view per se, but could see the ocean when standing on... More

Hubby and I arrived May 16th for a romantic anniversary getaway. Ride to the hotel in the taxi was nearly an hour. We arrived during rush hour so it's probably only 1/2 hour during non-peak hours. Lois at the front desk was really friendly and informative. She upgraded us to an "unobstructed oceanview". Room on the top floor and it was beautiful. Room was average - roomy enough for two and clean. It did have... More
