We are currently at the Sugar Bay and this is our last night. The pool was great, the lunch at the Mangrove spot was good. The nightly entertainment is very weak. We were there the last week of April into early May. Where to start, negative or positive... Positive: The views of ocean are spectacular! Great pool with a bar you can swim up to! Our recent trip to Sugar Bay Resort and Spa required a sense of humor. The property is really very pretty but in need of management and funding. We spent the first night with no power with the smoke alarm screeching every time the power tried and failed to come back on. We just stayed at this hotel last week, 5/13 to 5/17/2012. It was awful and appears to be shutting down. They electricity goes off often. The spa was dirty, no clean towels, hot tub had things floating in it. The all-inclusive was a joke. We spent more on eating out than our trip. We checked in today and are already having regrets. --We arrived at 4:30, an hour and a half after check in, and had to wait more than an hour before our room was ready. Hubby and I arrived May 16th for a romantic anniversary getaway. Ride to the hotel in the taxi was nearly an hour. We arrived during rush hour so it's probably only 1/2 hour during non-peak hours.
