A friendly hotel in what is probably one of the quieter villages along this part of the coast. We stayed here for a couple of nights recently, and I was pleasantly surprised. Could probably be considered a little pricey...... But hey! Who cares?:) Fast and efficient check in. Friendly staff. Pets welcome. Ours was a standard, village view room which... More

I ate at the hotel for the second time last weekend. I have complex dietary needs and am really impressed with the both menu and the attitude of the staff. There is a good vegetarian selection and a large proportion of the menu is, or can be made, gluten-free. On my first visit they changed a dish to suit me.... More

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We really felt that we had been looked after. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean, we slept very well as it is so peaceful. It is great how you can just go for a stroll down to the sea, with its quiet sandy beach, sand dunes and views of Dunstanburgh Castle.... More

There are many positives to list; I'll name a few. The hotel itself is very pretty and attractive. Additionally, there is a beautiful little garden across the road that belongs to the hotel. The room was large, comfortable and clean. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality breakfasts and tasty, well-cooked meals. Moreover, staff were friendly, courteous and attentive.... More

I have just returned from a 3 night stay with my wife at The Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel. A hotel which we have visited at least a couple of times a year for the past 5 or 6 years. In addition to these visits, I have also, for the past 5 years, organised a trip for around 16 golfers/cyclists staying at... More

We stayed just for morning coffee, to break up our day. Ask at reception, as the bar is not staffed at this time in a morning. We had coffee in the lounge, which was very pleasant. Service was friendly, and we were joined by a group of German biker tourists who also wanted a break and were warmly received. All... More

The only reason I have graded this hotel as average is I feel the rates are a little too high; our large village view room was fine although the decor was a little dated. The large bed was excellent and most comfortable and the bathroom had been refurbished. Cooked breakfast was good and our evening meal was excellent and good... More

Spent a week D,B&B in one of the cottage suites. Accommodation very comfortable, food excellent, waitress service a credit to the hotel. However some of the holiday was spoilt by 3 days of loutish behaviour by a party of about 20 rowdy men. Shouting, swearing, jeering, booing and loud animal noises are not acceptable in a hotel dining room. Rather... More

We stayed in Embleton in a self catering cottage, but as it was our aniversary we wanted a nice meal, a special meal, something to match the occasion. We were not disapointed by having dinner here, it was fantastic and one of the best meals we have had in a long time. On the day we had dinner the hotel... More

We were looking for a well positioned pub hotel with good food and atmosphere and where we could guarantee a good sized room. The superior village rooms fit the bill nicely. Good food though choice / variety lessens the longer you stay. Good standards all round and friendly staff. The only slight disappointment was that the place was dead by... More
