We needed two beds for our dive trip so booked the oceanfront suite. This was on the second story of the building on the ocean side of the street, opposite the office and the majority of the rooms. This building also housed the restaurant and bar, but there was no noise at night. We liked the high ceilings, tub and... More

I made a return trip to The Old Gin House on April 25-May 2. I stayed in an Oceanview room last year, but decided to save some cash and go for a Garden View room this year. Both rooms were spacious and clean. Obviously, the oceanview room was much nicer, but the garden view was nothing to be upset about!... More

Arrived on an early WinAir flight and had breakfast here. The view couldn't be beat. Right on the ocean, with views of the coast, mountain, and old ruins of the former shipping port. Food was nicely presented. Full American breakfast included unlimited juice and coffee.

We were sailing for two weeks with our kids and decided to have a drink in their fabulous beach bar. The hotel looked so inviting that I asked if they had a room available for the night, to have some time away from the family. They did and we had a lovely room with an oceanview and enjoyed a relaxing... More

We stayed there for 8 days during our annual diving trip to the Caribbean. Our feeling after being there for a week was that it was the place that was "Almost....... " (you supply the adjective). It was clean and comfortable. The food was pretty good (breakfast was a bit of a puzzle - we had the continental breakfast included... More

The Hotel was pretty laid back and very clean, I didn't have a fridge in my room but other rooms do. You get in the room two free water bottles and a ice bucket. At the flights of stair you can get as many ice as you want. The place is nice and quiet, every day there is something different... More

I made a solo island hopping trip to go diving and was referred to the Old Gin House by the dive shop that I used, as well as the wonderful online reviews of the hotel. I must say that this hotel is awesome. It has a very laid back feel and is clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly from... More

This is the best hotel in Town. Princess Beatrix stays here when she visits Statia. The Winair pilots also stay here. The common areas are lovely. The reception is in a lovingly restored Gin House and the bar/restaurant across the street is also very chic. You get a very good Wifi connection here (free but you need a password). If... More

We stayed at The Old Gin House in March 2012. The hotel was quite nice, clean and spacious, and seemed to be the obvious choice when visiting Statia. The hotel property is parted by a narrow, main road (but there's hardly any traffic). There are rooms on the hillside and some on the bay side. Our suite overlooked the bay... More

We stayed at the OGH for one week in early May. Location is good, has waterfront and about 5 min walk from the Golden Rock Dive Center and Scubaqua. The rooms are spacious and fairly clean. A few staff try to be helpful but some seem indifferent. The pool was not filled and the wifi is limited to lobby and... More
