We had been traveling all over sothern Mexico. Our last two nights were in Mexico City at the Hotel Metropol. As we walked into the lobby with a shinny marble floor it was evident that this was a nice place. The desk was helpful and friendly, the lobby was impressive and the room was great. The room was large, clean... More

I recently stayed in Hotel Metropol with a couple of friends. We loved the location close to the zocalo, fine arts museum, etc. We were interested in going to Lagunilla open air antique market, so that was a fair walk, but otherwise it was centrally located to most of the places we wanted to see on our short visit. The... More

I thought this hotel was great. Good location near the zocalo (main plaza), metro stations, restaurants and some famous sights in Mexico City. Staff were friendly. In room safe needs refundable deposit to use. Always had hot water. Restaurant in hotel was good. Rooms were clean and spacious for this type of hotel. A good stay. Sometimes can be noisy... More

Positives: - good location - close to Bellas Artes, some 10 minutes from zocalo - typical western European standard of an average business hotel - no thrills, but no shame either - clean, spacey etc. - very good deal for the rooms booked over the internet, especially considering we are in the capital city. No downsides - I would come... More

My Mexican Ancient Civilizations trip run by G Adventures (formerly Gap Adventures) used Hotel Metropol as the joining hotel. Compared to the previous hotel I stayed at in the Zocalo, I found that Hotel Metropol met all my basic needs at a more affordable price. However, the Internet on the free computer stations in the hotel wasn't working and this... More

This place is only a few blocks from the Alemeda, and an easy walk to anything in the Historic Centre. The place is clean, if a little noisy (but that's Mexico City), and the staff are friendly and available all night for late arrivals. The staff's lack of English is not a problem, it's my lack of Spanish that causes... More

We had a bad start to our trip to Mexico City as our transfer did not turn up to pick us up. Also when we arrived at the hotel Metrepol we did not have a booking, this was the fault of our travel agent. But even though we had no reservation the staff at the hotel gave us a room... More

The good reviews must be from employees. The employees are rude beyond belief, they ignore you, look at you like you are dirt. I speak fluent Sapnish and ti was a good thing. They speak no english but that is okay. It is Mexico. Our room was a triple. They advertise refrigerators, microwave, jacuzzi, etc., in all rooms. There is... More

We stayed about 4 nights as this was where our tour was departing. Staff at the hotel were very nice, even the cleaning lady was courteous. I think the location is central and quite close to the Zocalo (where Cathedral is), pharmacy, taquerias, restaurants, and even the subways. I didn't really feel dangerous in Mexico City. We walked around even... More
