The courtyard of the hotel is charming and the location is very good, a few blocks from the zocalo. However, the hotel is extremely noisy. We were staying at one of their suites which are supposed to be the nicest rooms. The room was OK, nothing great, and the bathroom def. needs renovation. The main problem is that the acoustics... Many times people talk about the character of places they stay. And that is what one seeks these days, provided the basics are met. However, Hostel de la Noria, although definitely offering character is missing the basics: the ability to have a good night’s sleep and a decent shower. Check-in: The person at the front desk had our details and... More

Clean enough and pleasant courtyard but the service was lacking and the beds are quite hard for the price. On the upside it is very close to the Zocalo and other points of interest in the city. More

I think it is very expensive for what they offer. I have no problems at all in the hotel, but the room was very small. Food was good. Nothing much to say about it. More

We stayed here for one night and it was the most welcome, beautiful hotel I had ever seen. This may have been in part because our hotel for the night before was cold, dirty and generally horrible. But even with this in consideration the Hostal del la Noria was an absolutely beautiful hotel. I will admit it's not the cheapest... More

Our stay for 9 nights was pleasurable and morning breakfast was my favorite part. Wonderful choices and good food. Our room was on the 3rd floor so lots of climbing each day. You could often hear noise from the lower floor rooms in the middle of the night which was disturbing. Very hard beds but we adjusted. The location is... More

This is a very nice hotel about 2 blocks from the Zocalo. Our room had a balcony facing the street. The rooms are clean, the service is excellent, and I liked the decorations in the rooms (Oaxacan crafts and antiques). The only drawback is that they no longer serve full meals (except breakfast) in their restaurant. The snacks that they... More

We liked the hotel, although when we got there it was virtually empty yet we were given a room with no window/view. Perhaps because of the potentially noisy street, but after asking at reception were were given another room, albeit smaller. However, there did seem to be better rooms available. We'd had a 8 hour coach journey to get there... More

After a business trip to Mexico City, my partner and I traveled to Oaxaca for a few days of R&R. He picked this hotel for its price and location very close to, but not on, the main square. It was an excellent choice. It was indeed a couple of blocks to the main square and within easy walking distance of... More

This is a beautiful restored house from the 20th century in the historical district. It has a good restaurant. The English speaking front desk manager on duty during the day was very helpful as well More
