This is my favourite kind of hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and the breakfast in the garden is enchanting. The owner Jorge is a very interesting man, with considerable expertise in local history. More

I don't need to mention anything about the lovely garden courtyards that make this hotel such a tranquil place to stay or the friendly, helpful staff. The guidebooks and other reviewers have already commented on these aspects. I just want to touch on our recent experience with some travel difficulties. We were scheduled to arrive in Oaxaca in the afternoon,... More

This hotel charges 600 pesos per night for a couple and we stayed six nights in room C22. This is the most we paid on our trip except for the Barcelo Resort in Huatulco and we paid 1280 pesos per night for an all inclusive program. The Golondrinas is clean and the staff are wonderful. The hotel is also in... More

I recently stayed here on my first visit to Oaxaca after years of travelling in Mexico. It's a beautiful little hotel in a colonial-style building about 5-10 mins' walk from the main plaza. All of the rooms give onto leafy patios where you can hang out after a long day. The rooms are pretty, very Oaxacan, and come with bathroom,... More

We spent 3 nights here right after christmas. The staff was really friendly and the roooms nice and clean (somewhat basic, but we didn't mind). Breakfast was ok (not included) and served in one of the nice patios. The hotel is really close from the zocalo and santo domingo. The one downside we found is that they have no parking... More

The back rooms are small but fine but the front ones including AA are dark and noisy. For the money the hotel is not a patch on Las Mariposas where friends have been staying. The garden is sweet. Breakfast service is very laid back but I have found that pretty much everywhere ( except Cafe Brujula). I wouldnt recommend LG... More

Breakfast in the garden is a joy! The rooms are pretty standard and characterless but clean and big. More

We were in Oaxaca for Day of the Dead rituals, visiting ruins, artists, weavers and wood carvers. It was a remarkable experience, all nested in lodging at Las Golondrinas. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful; the breakfasts were delicious and wonderfully situated in a lovely garden; the room had the ambience of Oaxaca, was very spacious, comfortable, and clean.... Oaxaca is our favorite destination in Mexico and Las Golondrinas is our favorite hotel. We have stayed here 6 or 7 times over the years and its charm never fades. From the front of the hotel you would never realize how lovely the interior is. There are several small courtyards as you go to the back of the hotel, all... More
