The hotel is very beautiful because of the inner court (banana trees, other tropical plants, sitting arrangements and pleasant decor). The room we had is upstairs down a narrow hall. The rooms wrap completely around the inner court with only one way in or out which makes for a dangerous fire escape hazard. During a fire, the only way out would... More

My wife & I spent three nights here during March. Our room was in the annex across the street. It was also on the ground floor under the stairs. As a consequence it was a very dark room. It was also very basic. Fortunately, we didn't spend too much time in the hotel. Breakfast wasn't included but good, cheap Mexican... More

Our room was not in the main building but over the road, which comprised of a pretty hacienda style building around a courtyard. Our room was on the small side with 2 beds, which were incredibly comfortable with good, warm bedding (it became very cold at night). Had the building not been so impressive I may have thought less of... More

Fantastic location is the main attraction. The property itself is quite nice and our room (Master Suite) was very nice. The Master Suite is in the section of the building across the road from the main building/reception. Only minor problem with the room is that whilst you have a seperate sitting area, there is only 1 television. That television is... More

Based upon their advertising and our research, we were expecting a more upscale hotel experience. The room was clean but rather small and crowded. Bed was comfortable, but loaded with so many blankets and pillows that they had to be thrown on the floor making the space even more crowded. Bath and shower o.k., but small. Great downtown location close... More

Charming small colonial hotel near Santa Domingo Cathedral. Loved the architecture; room adequate size, charming artwork and great beds. Room looked out to the courtyard that is surrounded by all rooms. The bedding is very heavy on top of you. Sheet, blanket, quilt in duvet; but wonderful on cold nights. Parking for car is not on site but just a... More

Our visit began with a sweet welcome at the airport by dear Armando who welcomed us and drove us to the hotel where we had the first of many delicious healthy meals. The staff was helpful and friendly. The accommodations comfortable and clean. In a central location, we walked all over this lovely old city from the hotel. It was... More

I stayed in Hotel Casa Mexiana for a weekend last November and I have to give it my best recommendation. Clean and comfortable rooms, great artwork everywhere and heating (which is neccesary in November becouse it can get really cold!). I especially love the artwork which gives the place a really good feeling. The staff is friendly and the restaurant... More

Attractive building in a great location. The public areas are lovely and very atmospheric. There is a nice bar and restaurant. The rooms are not large but very comfortable with good beds. The hotel was in a quiet spot but just a couple of moments from the pedestrianised centre. This is certainly a place worth visiting. More

We stayed at the Casa Mexicana for 3 days which was a birthday present for me from my wife. What a great present! The hotel was beautiful with attractive rooms and good beds to get a good night sleep after many hours of twisty roads in a bus... very welcome! The bathroom was clean and the hot water was hot....
