We stayed here in a bugalow. When the key would not turn in the door, and the lights would not turn on, we were upgraded (to the Pavarotti suite). That truly satisfied us. The rooms were clean, but "elements" of the jungle were present. The swimming pools were fine--they just had to be used when the youngest guests weren't playing... More

This hotel is not only perfectly located next to Chichen-Itza, it seems to easily blend and allow the beauty of the Mayan Ruins to standout. The Lodge is beautiful, serene and peaceful--gives the feeling like it existed long before it was built. The rooms were charming with their thatched roofs, mosquito netting and hardwood shutters-spacious yet cozy. We woke up... More

Only stayed one nightnbut a great place. Drove the somewhat boring drive from Cancun on the way to Merida. Easy to find and you can literally walk down a path and be in Chichen Itza to best the bus loads of tourists. Grounds are beautifully landscaped with old trees, nice flowers which attract great song birds. Peacocks on the grounds... More

Shangrila is no longer an imaginary paradise on our earth. It can be found in the Yucatan at the "Lodge at Chichen Itza". The reason I say this is because the villas of the lodge do not overpower the senses. They blend into the jungle with its gorgeous canopy of flowers and trees and compliment each other. The sound of... More

To have an experience beyond any expectation is such a gift. The grounds at the Lodge create such a peaceful atmosphere in the shadow of the Mayan Empire. The rooms were very comfortable, even though I spent quite a bit of time in the hammock on the veranda. The food was excellent, but the staff was so good, and the... More

We enjoyed every moment here. A welcome relief from the heat as well as the tours. The management is just amazing. Thank you Mr Azcorra for the superb service. Our rooms were great- just wish we could have stayed longer. The food was very tasty and we really liked the grounds, the pools and the villa's. Keep up the great... More

The Lodge at Chichen Itza is a piece of paradise bordering the Maya ruins. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was authentic and delicious, and the rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable. The main building’s beautiful stained glass windows add a touch of old world European elegance to the hotel’s overall hacienda... More

We recently returned from a trip to Mexico where we stayed two nights at the Lodge at Chchen Itza and had a throughly wonderful time. The hotel grounds are spectacularly beautiful with massive tropical trees filled with birds. We stayed in a bungalow which was near the lower swimming pool. The bungalows are thatched roof tropical huts with four nice... More

But sometimes the entrance is closed. One morning the entrance was closed and we had to go all the way around in a taxi to get to the main entrance but in the afternoon the entrance from Chichen Itza to the hotel was open. Comfortable hotel and the closest hotel to the site but you cannot see any of the... More
