As with all previous reviews nice and helpful. But however nice they should be ashamed at how dirty the rooms are. The walls are filthy and the bathroom needs to be steam cleaned. The beds had bugs we were itching. The fridge was all rusty. We cut our stay from 3 nights to 2 nights. In hindsight we should have... More

We arrived here bone weary from travel, and were treated with such consideration, shown our room, no mention of payment, provided with more comfortable chairs for the patio, and left to rest. This was an interim stay of a week while we looked for an apt., and Ron & Manuel helped us in every way. Yes, the rooms are a... More

We have stayed at Posada Santiago twice, each time for two weeks, and have enjoyed ourselves immensely. Manuel is a wonderful host and was very helpful in steering us towards good restaurants, cultural events and out-of-town attractions. The hotel is small and intimate, not terribly splashy, but very clean and adequately equipped for us to prepare breakfast and light meals.... More

I recently stayed at the Posada for the third time in as many years. It is, and always has been, pleasant, clean, quiet, and friendly. The rooms have always been well maintained, and believe me, never any chipped paint or dirt. The plants and trees in the courtyard are a veritable tropical arboretum. There are always some flowers blooming and... More

I was suppose to stay there more than a week based on tripadvisor reviews. What I found in Posada Santiago is a run down suffocating dirty place. No water pressure in the shower, Room dirty and suffocating. Fridge in the supposed wanna be kitchenette out of use. The walls around the bed not cleaned for many years, even if a... More

My needs were met in this charming, unpretentious spot in Merida's lovely Santiago district. Manuel is a gracious host who provides cheerful assistance laced with words of wisdom. The kitchenette really came in handy. The bed is super comfortable, the bathroom is fully tiled and huge, the TV has a bunch of channels in English, and the pool looks lovely.... More

This past Septemeber I was headed to Merida to relax. After staying in many other facilities in the past and being ever so disappointed,I started looking on the internet for a B&B in Merida. Well the rest is history. Folks you cannot ask for better hosts than Ron and Manuel at the Santiago Guesthouse. My room was spacious, clean and full... More

The posada was nicely decorated, but our room was claustrophobic (we were on the first floor): there was a huge wall behind one window and the air conditioning didn't work well. Moreover, the bathroom wasn't very clean. Finally, there was a big space between the door and the floor, which caused a lot of mosquitoes to enter in our room. More

I found Ron and Manuel to both be so friendly and helpful. Their place was wonderfully decorated and comfortable. Ron also knows a lot about Merida and shared a lot of info with us so that was really great. Highly recommended! More
