We just returned from a week in Tulum. We don't do much more than lay on the beach and read, and wander to get some delicious food (easy to do on Tulum beach). This was our second visit to Tulum, first at Casa Violeta. It was terrific. We chose Magnolia because we wanted sea breeze and no jungle buggies. Total... More

I went to Casa Violeta with a friend for four days. The owner of the property (Karla Gutierrez) was not on site and there was a different "manager" every evening. They had incorrectly booked our reservation (though the airport pick up happened on the correct day), then promised to put us in a nice room for our last night, only... More

We have been to Tulum a number of times and the places we've stayed are all closed now. We were very happy with our stay in the Jasmine cabin at Casa Violeta and would definitely return. Here were the bad parts: 1. It rained and our ceiling leaked everywhere. It didnt ruin anything and we figured that's the risk staying... More

We thought La Nave was the best pizza in Tulum, until we discovered the restaurant at Casa Violeta. Delicious delicious pizza. Also had a penne bolognese that was very authentic. It was nice to sit on the beach side but be protected from the wind while eating. The workers weren't the friendliest or very sincere, but the authentic italian food... More

We stayed here with our two girls just before Christmas. We had the cabaña at the back next to the road but it was OK. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is fine. The water does have a funny smell but I think this is the case everywhere in Tulum not only at Casa Violeta. I like the beach... More

Our weeklong stay at Casa Violeta was a magical dream. As soon as we drove through the violet gate our NYC stress began to thaw. Our cabana was named Jazmine and it was as exotic as the flower. We were just twenty five meters from the lapping waves, with jungle birds chirping on the talapa roof, a long hammock inside... More

My husband and I took a last-minute trip to Tulum for our one-year anniversary in mid-November. Since we booked so last minute, we were glad to find a room at Casa Violeta, and although it wasn’t beach-front, for the price we were happy to get a room at all. We arrived late at night and were shown directly to our... More
