We have been to Las Trancas 3 times, the most recent in March 2013. This place is truly Heaven on Earth. The food and staff are wonderful, the setting is gorgeous, and the activities (pool, horseback riding, spa) are great.

It was a magical stay. We felt like we stepped back in time and were the guests in someone's hacienda. In fact we stayed in the room where Hidalgo stayed. The facility is beautifully restored. Stayed here with two young children. Was perfect. Great rooms, grounds and food. Horses for the kids, pool, endless fun. Gorgeous old building, beautifully redone. Worth every penny. Bravo!
