The staff and hotel is very nice but the Metterra and the Matrix just seem to be a bit nicer for the same price. When staying in edmonton this is my #3 hotel to call for availability.

Stayed here for a few nights and it was a great location for walking to restaurants, the river, and the university. Lively area along Whyte Avenue with lots of interesting shops and choices for food.
Very good service in the hotel and excellent lounge area to make tea, coffee and grab a piece of fruit. Good continenetal breakfast included in...

The hotel is old...but has had serious renovation. The rooms are small but well appointed, soap and bath products top notch. The location would be ideal if you are in Edmonton for a festival or concert.

This hotel has positive reviews that I don't understand. The hotel has not been updated in years. The bed covering in the rooms is one of those nasty multi-colored shiney coverlets. The bed linens are fine in spite of the covering. The TV is not a flat screen. The bathrooms are small. The closets are smaller and require some juggling...

I've stayed here frequently because of its location. Close to University Hospital as we as the Jubilee Auditorium. Situated in the heart of Old Strathcona which I prefer over downtown Edmonton.
Recently stayed again and thought it was time I submitted a revie aftern noticing how shabby the hotel is becoming. Same nasty duvet covers they've used for years. Time...

The Varscona Hotel was a great overnight stay while we were in Edmonton. The Hotel's decor has been updated and our room was clean and comfortable. Free parking was convenient, the comp. breakfast was average and the staff was helpful and courteous. The hotel is right in the middle of the action on Whyte Ave., and lots of great restaurants...

We have stayed many times at this hotel. It is so central to the restaurants and shopping and theatres of Whyte avenue. The helpful staff, pet policy, good beds, clean rooms, wine tasting in the evenings and decent buffet breakfast included in the morning make this an enjoyable stay for business or pleasure.

I have stayed at the Varscona numerous times over the last 10 or 15 years and this last time was equally as good. We received a very warm welcome on check-in (always fresh apples for the taking on the front desk) and the complimentary valet service is always appreciated! Our King room was a little on the small side but...

I picked this hotel because of the location being close to the Jubilee where we were going to see a show. Should have stayed farther away in a place we would have enjoyed. when we finally found somewhere to park two blocks away and checked in we were told that they had valet parking or complimentary self parking. After asking...

We asked for an end room, away from Whyte Ave. (as the noise can be bad on weekends). The room was well furnished and comfortable, including the bed. There was reasonably good noise dampening from adjoining rooms but hallway noise could be louder than preferred. Underground valet parking was a nice touch. The small boutique hotel is on Whyte Avenue...
