On my very first fishing trip ever I caught a 41lb Spring Salmon!
We had just got to Eclipse first thing in the morning, dropped my rod in the water with a red flasher and an army truck and he bit.
My West Coast guide was Cory and he's the reason that fish got landed.
He told me exactly what I needed to do with the rod and reel to get it done.
The spring was headed for the kelp bed and Cory went wide open throttle to put the boat between the Salmon and the kelp bed and we had the fish landed in 5 minutes!
My experience at the Whale Channel lodge is one of the best times in my life.
The entire West Coast staff do an incredible job at making you feel like royalty while you are at their lodge. The food is incredible, the service is amazing and the guides work hard to make sure your time on the water nets you the big ones!
I can't wait to have to opportunity to go back.

Anglers have a variety of species to target, including an early run of white spring sometimes referred to as “ivory chinook”. The Channel is also known for living up to its namesake, as the whale and wildlife watching opportunities are seemingly endless. ... more less
