Sad it is that I have to advise that the Inn on the Cove burned on Sunday night, January 8, 2012. Almost a total loss, it remains to be seen if the Mavises will rebuild or if this fine establishment is lost for good.

This Inn has a very strange customer service policy for its off season guests. They book you a room and do not disclose that there is no service provided to the guests in the morning for breakfast or check out. They leave a continental "breakfast basket" in the room for you consisting of - two juice boxes, two apples, one...

I went there to use several gift certificates to the place and used them all to have about 5 deep tissue massage sessions. The staff were very courteous and accommodative and the masseur was excellent. The overall experience was luke warm and perhaps a bit better because of our appreciation of each other. The service staff were negligible and removed from customers. No sense of healing or warmth. But the location is great.

Chef Ross and his lovely wife, Willa, are the consumate hosts and the meals are absolutely outstanding. From the "Hot Rock and Rolls" which start each meal to the final bite of Ross' chocolate souffle or cheesecake, you will enjoy every mouthfull.
