I had the pleasure of an overnight stay at The Flying Dutchman B&B this past weekend. I was in Halifax for business and did not wish to stay at a hotel so I found this perfect B&B. Minutes from Peggy's cove and just 20 mins. from my morning appointment in Halifax, I made the right choice! Comfortable room/bed and perhaps... More

We visited Flying Dutchman a couple of years ago in the summer, stayed for two nights and enjoyed both the stay there and the exploration of the area. Doreen and Henk are wonderful hosts and Doreen is a topnotch cook. We had hoped to enjoy breakfast on the dock, but alas it was too cool and foggy. However, the sunny... More

We stopped into Peggy's Cove late in the fall as Hurricane Sandy made her way up the coast. The winds and rain were just beginning to kick up. Not much was open in late October but owner Doreen was very accomodating and took us at the last minute. After taking our shoes off at the front entrance, she showed up... More

Made a reservation on the spot. Donna the host showed us the rooms on the ground floor and mentioned there is a room with a view on the upper floor. We requested to see that room as well and were instantly captivated by the view. Despite the higher rate, we booked the room with the view since the wet and... More

We spent one night at the Flying Dutchman in late September. Doreen and Henk welcomed us as if we were old friends. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the surroundings were quiet so we slept well. In the morning Doreen served us a filling breakfast in a special sitting room set up for guests, and we certainly didn't... More

We spent two nights at the Flying Dutchmen Bed and Breakfast. It was located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The breakfasts were delicious and home cooked. We spent one evening sharing and socializing with them. Great place and good company.

The best travel experiences begin with good people. So when we arrived at The Flying Dutchman and met our hostess, Doreen Langille, we knew that we were off to a good start. It was more like going to visit a favourite aunt rather than just checking into mere accommodations. The atmosphere generated by Doreen and her husband, Henk, was warm,... More

My husband and I were delighted with our stay at the Flying Dutchman B&B. Superb hosts that gave us excellent suggestions for things to do and see. The rooms are lovely but the view is AMAZING. The food was divine! We loved sitting outside with our lobster and wine enjoying the view. (Doreen told us where to find a cooked... More

The best part of this B&B is the front yard! It is on a small inlet of the Atlantic Ocean that faces West so you can actually watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean!! Spectacular. There is a bench swing you can sit on as you watch the sun color the sky and then disappear down the horizon. When you... More

My husband and I spent our second to last night of a weeklong trip to Nova Scotia at the Flying Dutchman and we absolutely loved it! The house is beautiful - you can also enjoy an AMAZING view of the sunset over the water from their yard while relaxing on a rustic swing. The accommodations were very nice with an... More
