This was our last night after spending 3 weeks in the Maritimes. My wife and I had a very enjoyable trip and we had a nice relaxing rest before returning home. The B&B is located just off the Harbour and the views were awesome. The room was cozy and there was a nice patio to sit on and relax. There... More

The Consulate Inn is located right on the water and Canada Trail with lovely cared for grounds to stroll around. Debbie is a charming host and she and her staff made a scrumptious breakfast. I stayed in the Bermuda Suite, with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The Suite is spacious with its own large deck overlooking the Northumberland Strait.

This is our 3rd stay here, the other stays have been overnighters on the way to somewhere else. This time we stayed 2 nights in the Bermudian Suite - very cozy and clean. (yes the decore could use a bit of updating for my taste) but that in now way would prevent us from returning again. Our friends stayed in... More

We stayed in Pictou last night and stayed in the Gazebo suite. The room was spacious, modern and clean with a beautiful 4 poster bead and huge bathroom with double jacuzzi bath. The deck overlooking the water was great. Breakfast was delicious and not just run of the mill bacon and eggs. The owner was very friendly. We loved this... More

We started off on the wrong foot as the Inn had no record of our reservation. Fortunately, I had a copy of the confirmation email sent by Debbie, and Pattie, the person who checked us in, remembered our telephone booking. The Gazebo Suite which we had booked was still available so no harm was done. I had expected Debbie the... More

The owners are the friendliest, nicest couple. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day. The room was very dated, smelled damp and was dark and cold since it was on the ground level in a separate building with a room and deck above. There were stains on the bedspread and it had a musty smell. The gardens were... More

This was supposedly a 4.5 star B&B - no way. The location is good for touring the Pictou area and the view was exactly what we wanted. However, the rooms are tired. We had the Gazebo room, one of the most expensive choices. The room was dark and dingy. The bed cover would have been outdated 20 years ago. There... More

This was our second stay at the Consulate - the first being a couple of years ago. The whole house (and it's unfair to describe it otherwise) just shows the character of Debbie, the owner. It is a bit rambling but this just adds to the character. We stayed in one of the second floor rooms overlooking the harbour so... More

Lovely owners trying to sell the property, and it shows. Appalling condition; fire hazards in the room with extension cords and double adapters throughout, only half of which worked. Cheap and nasty breakfasts.
