The Customs House building is interesting and unique. The owners have done a very nice job of renovating it for use as a B&B. The bed in our room was excellent, the appointments tasteful and the shower very nice. The owner/inn keeper is a pleasant fellow, but he and his business partners have not had hospitality experience. So...the lamps next... More

Pictou is a quaint, picturesque waterfront town. Best situation for the PEI Ferry. Very clean B&B, or better B & almost B. Comfortable bed. Good value for the money. Breakfast is boxed cereal out on a counter in a run down closed pub. The coffee is hot, brown and plenty of it - but weak, like Tim Hortons. The host/innkeeper... More

Beautiful, elegant, charming room. The included breakfast was not "available." Completely unable to find the innkeeper when we tried to check-out, looked everywhere! Chose this Inn partly for the on-site pub when we reserved but disappointed to find it was closed. More

In the heart of Pictou, only ten minutes from the PEI ferry. A perfect stop for those staying over for the ferry to PEI. Not much to look at from the outside, but each room is VERY modern and comfortable on the inside. Several restaurants within waking distance. We would definately stay there again. More

A unique building with a long history. This is definitely a place with character unlike a big chain accommodation. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet and dark. Will come back in the summer to see the town and wouldn't imagine staying anywhere else. It's right on the waterfront and a nice walk to anywhere in the town. More

We recently spent two nights at the Customs House on a weekend in August and enjoyed the hotel immensely. The room was pleasant and the hotel had a wonderful authenticity to it. We loved the quiet setting. The owners were accommodating and kind. The hotel was lacking some of today's usual amenities but the trade-off was the simple charm and... More

The ferry sailing were cancelled due to high winds so we tried to stay at the Holiday Inn but it was full as were the other hotels in the area so we thought we would try Pictou. Customs House is a beautiful building with impressive high ceilings and an appealing downtown location. The room is showing some wear and we... More

stunning rooms. Pictou is a hidden gem! The Inn has all the modern amenities. Owner is helpful is suggesting places for dinner. The morning breakfast is boxes of cereal, bread to toast and jams. Breakfast is not the reason to stay here. Stay for the HUGE and elegant rooms and location. More

We, like so many others, booked a room for a night on our honeymoon. We loved what we saw on the website and had high hopes of eating and drinking in the old stone pub in the basement. We found out from locals that the pub has been closed for several years so we have no idea why it's still... More

Located near the Northumberland shore in a quiet part of town close to amenities and within walking distance of the harbor. Although renovated in 1997, this 1870 property has a distinct musty old smell. Parking was limited. Large room with 30 foot ceilings and VERY tall windows. Nicely and modernly renovated with air conditioning. The jetted tub was our of... More
