Staff are very friendly and appreciate your patronage. Great food and lounge. Older hotel but love the rooms and location which is right downtown Toronto and within walking distance to most venues. Its about 40 min from airport. Would defintely recommend for family and business Im pretty sure they are pet friendly too.

Had an event to attend in Toronto and decided to make a weekend of it. Booked using Hotwire and got The King Edward. First off, you really can't beat the location as it is within walking distances of many attractions and a few steps from the subway. The lobby and common areas are very nice, definitely show the history of... More

The old world charm of the building is incredible along with the architecture of the lobby and main floor. Our room was a good size but very long & narrow, I couldn't even read the guide on the TV it was so far away from the bed. Had a great view of a brick wall. No ice machines so ordered... More

I love the romance of staying in a century old hotel....my son was actually married here. The lobby is beautiful...the bar is full of character. However, the rooms really need to be upgraded...The bathtub is old and slippery...a tub mat should have been provided...There was NO shower cap....unbelievable!! Housecleaning could have been much better. I was shocked that WiFi was... More

Our first experience at the King Edward was phenomenal. My wife and I traveled to Toronto to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, and I picked the King Edward because I wanted to visit a hotel with a bit more character and history to it, not to mention its wonderful location. Before our trip I read some review regarding the older... More

In essence the consistency of service was lacking. The restaurant and bar service was outstanding and the quality of the food was very good. The prices though were exorbitant...especially considering there are several quality eateries close to the Hotel. (Memorial Day long weekend for us US-Folks) We booked a room with 2 queen beds for a family of four. We... More

This was my second stay at the King Edward and I look forward to my next one, I love this hotel, it has charm, character, a rich history, we were there for the open doors event and got to see the Crystal Ballroom on the 18th floor which was beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is... More

This hotel and the Royal York are the two elderly landmark institutions of Toronto. I'm still uncertain about whether I prefer the Royal York or the King Edward. Both are charming and both have their positives and negatives. The lobby of the King Edward was beautiful. The hotel has a wonderful history with many famous former guests including: the beatles,... Our King Executive Room was beautiful and very spacious. The location on King near Yonge is perfect for walking to many attractions (St. Lawrence Market, CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, Eaton Centre, Dundas Square, etc, etc....)

Under the shadow of the Royal York, King Edward sports the same royal charm. It has old English Beauty that can be appreciated if you have ever stayed in an old CP hotel. Excellent location (next to Subway) and close to unique restaurants. For those of you who enjoy shopping at Winners, it is very close to one on Front... More
