The hotel does not have terminals for paying with Apple Pay; you need a physical card (plastic). They cannot take funds through the booking account (the card is linked there). They have a deposit >50$/night. They do not accept US dollars, they do not take deposits in US dollars. They do not exchange currency. Since early morning they carry out repair work, it is very noisy. They start drilling the walls in the morning at 08.00. The breakfast cafe opens late, there are no lunch boxes for early breakfasts.

Live bed bugs on the bed in room 916. I had the most traumatizing experience staying at this hotel. Went to bed to see a bed bug crawling across the duvet. I found 2 and killed them. It was after midnight and I packed up to stay somewhere else. I have had to incur expenses to discard of anything that had exposure in the room and that had close contact to the bed as well as steaming, dry cleaning and sanitizing washing everything to avoid an infestion in my home. I was under the impression by the hotel specially the Housekeeping manager that they would rectify the situation knowing how stressful the situation was. I have been given the run around for a month since I have submitted my incurred costs to deal with staying at their hotel. At this point I have received no resolution and the general manager's email address generates an automatic reply with another person's email. This new email sends back an error message saying the email can't be sent. It is very unfortunate that this is how the hotel is treating the situation. I will never stay at another Novotel hotel and I traveled for weeks this summer staying at half a dozen hotels and have never experienced bed bugs. The negligence in housekeeping to not have inspected the bed is not acceptable. It took 3 months with a lot of back and forth and following up with different employees to receive partial reimbursement for the costs incurred to avoid bringing the bugs into my home. The hotel indicates that they have dealt with the bed bug situation in the room. I had asked for the report confirming this so other guests don't have to go through this however they did not provide it.

Well. NOT a good experience. For a start, using tripadvisor.ca, I found the best rates with Expedia. So I booked a week through them. I locked the reservation in, because it was going to be over Christmas. So when I wanted to shorten the visit, not a surprise that that was not allowed. What WAS a surprise was that I was charged the posted rate---in American $. Huge difference. That's on me for not noticing, but also on Expedia for not pointing it out. So I ended up eating the cost of one day, plus the difference bt US & Cdn. NOT happy. Then, the hotel. Good location. ALL the staff were professional, pleasant, and completely helpful, in every way. The room? Yeah--not so much. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. No external ventilation at all. A fairly basic room, all OK. Small fridge, no microwave But about 3/4 of the TV channels did not work, & when hotel staff were approached about that, my travel partner got a shrug in return. So he missed A LOT of sports coverage he wanted to see. Hotel was (and will be for some time) under renovation. Also something that was not identified when I booked. So no pool. No sauna. No room service--although it was possible to pick up within the hotel itself. And here was a real surprise: I have reasonably normal skin. My travel partner ran a woodworking/cabinet-making business out west, for 40 years--his hands are like horn. BOTH of us had problems with the foam soap provided by the hotel. I developed a large open sore under my wedding ring after the first use--a week later, now at home, it's just now healing. My travel partner had a similar, although somewhat milder, problem, also after first use. He stopped using the product immediately. I'd stayed at the facility, on business, years ago. It's much improved since then, and presumably will be even more so when the reno is completed. But until then? No. I'll be staying elsewhere. Despite the wonderful interactions with all the staff we encountered.

Overall while the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was well kept I felt it was over priced and wouldn't go there again, just didn't feel it was good value for the cost. The room was small, especially the entrance the door kept banging into the closet which had very hard to open doors (maybe from the constant banging). Felt like I was constantly climbing over the beds, etc to move around. The tub was slippery not having any non-skid surface or matt and while the water pressure was good the temperature was not constant (jumping from warm to hot to cold). We had booked through "Bring Fido" as we needed a pet friendly hotel and the info provided was just wrong about what was included (we were counting on having dog bowls for water and food so didn't bring any with us). Though I think this is BF's fault and not Novotel's I don't know how they got that information, Novotel claimed they've never offered those items. Parking was a pain, as not owned by the hotel they did provide a convenient parking pass but you had to exit the hotel and in to the mall and a short walk around the corner to get to the elevators to the parking level. The parking lot driving entrance/exits were narrow and confusing to navigate.

I was at the North York Novotel Sunday October 22 for a breakfast with my family and friends and I had an amazing experience with the best service I have had in Toronto, that’s not a joke. Chef Isa made us an amazing personalized Mexican breakfast and all the food was extremely fresh. Our waiter Adam was the nicest, most caring, funniest and most generous waiter we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in he was already getting our coffees and juices and would constantly come to refill our drinks. I can’t express enough how good this breakfast was and would recommend it to everyone.

I came here for a family reunion breakfast on Sunday October 22, and the food was amazing. Chef Isa made an amazing breakfast with fresh cooked fritatas, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausages. The food was amazing and the service was incredible. Our waiter Adam was extremely kind and the service was the best in the city.

Clean room with king size bed. Friendliest housekeeping staff I’ve ever encountered in a Toronto hotel. There was no top sheet on the bed, just a duvet. Normally that would have been fine but the room temp was very hot (somewhere between 25-30C). Everyone I spoke to was complaining about it.

We celebrated our wedding at Novotel North York. From the start of the wedding planning process, Cathy Oreal, along with Kimia, and their team, have been supporting us with answering any questions and concerns, giving recommendations, and accommodating us with all of our requests to make our wedding as personalized and memorable as possible. During our stay at Novotel, the rooms were prepared, clean, and was ready on time of our check in. The check in process was seamless and staff were friendly. The hotel staff were also accommodating to our needs during the stay such that they were able to provide us extra blankets. During the wedding, the itinerary was followed by the hotel staff and organized to how we wanted it presented. The food for the reception was exceptionally flavourful and abundant. The late night snacks were also amazing. After the wedding, the staff even prepared a nice touch in our room. It included a fruit and chocolate platter, and the bed was decorated with petals and heart and swan shaped towels. Overall, our experiences with Novotel far exceeded our expectations, and will be recommended for other occasions.

Booked a suite and it was very disappointing. Had to call maintenance upon arrival as one outlet was not working so a couple of lights and computer plug in were not working. In the morning got stuck in the elevator for an hour ( not hotels fault). The wait would have been longer as company responsible for elevator was short staffed and we had to request the hotel to call the fire department). The coffee maker was not working, another light stopped working and a large piece of plywood stuck out from under the bed which my partner stubbed her foot on twice. Carpets were stained and bathroom sink was soiled, while lighting in bathroom was insufficient. Hotel needs a refresh. On a positive note staff was very pleasant and empathetic.
