I'd consider staying there again but would not go out of my way. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was lovely. The hairdryer did not work. The hotel is historic and therefore has old-building character. It is not good for anybody who has mobility problems- I was on the fourth and although I didn't search for... More

In summary - this hotel is a bit of an irony - we paid the same rates (ave $119 per night incl. tax) for an older dark, noisy room as we did for one of the newly appointed, quiet, super comfortable rooms. Ratings provided are based on the renovated rooms. TIP - ring when booking or before you arrive to... More

They left the historic character in this old mansion when they turned it into a hotel. Antique furniture, crown moldings, fireplaces, and decor. Hemmingway lived in the house back in the day, so there are many Hemmingway named suites, and you can almost feel papa in the place. Old antique elevator, so if you have mobility issues be careful. I stayed at the Clarion for one night. Great location but noisy. Service was polite and room was adequate. Nothing fancy but good value. . More

The hotel is situated in a nice 19 century building that preserved part of its original decoration. The rooms are very functional; however, to have a room decorated as in the beginning of the 20th century, you have to book a suite: otherwise, it will be just a standard hotel room, though with all the modern comfort in it. The... More

This hotel has two parts: the old 1880s house, and a later addition. Location is great (quiet and a half-block from Sherbourne subway) and there is onsite parking. The reception area is a good renovation of the Victorian high-ceilinged parlor, but the renovation doesn't reach the hotel hallways or (apparently) a number of the rooms or the elevator. The worst... Stayed here the night of October 12th, 2011. We have read the reviews and called in to make our reservation, frount desk helpful an polite. If you are going to stay here get a renovated room as the older rooms are just that....old. A few deficiencies in our room ( Faucet loose, paint chips on trim) but for $100 you... More

I stayed in this hotel for a week. It is a nice clean hotel with rooms having all the basic amenities which you need when outside at very affordable rates. The staff was also nice and friendly. Rooms are tidy and quiet (although little bit small) so that you can have nice sleep at night. More
