I have always stayed at Sofitel in Montreal. My experience at Le Germain was good enough that I want to return to Le Germain. Very nice rooms with modern decor. Friendly staff. If Le Germain offers the same free, high quality breakfast as they did in Toronto, that would tip the balance for me in favor of Le Germain if... More

Dear selmer, Thank you very much for sharing your experience at the Germain Montréal with us. We are proud to have strong competitors in the heavy Montreal boutique hotels. I also prefer the Germain Montreal but I think you would understand why! Our customer service and great location are only two of the many things that set us apart from... More

What a great hotel! The room was great, staff were more than helpful, the buffet breakfast was more than enough to start the day, the gym was small but well equipped and the car service was a great bonus. It was my first visit and I recommend it to anyone needing a great location in Montreal. More

We have stayed in Le Germain (Mercer Street) in Toronto twice and were anxious to see how the Montreal version stacked up. We were not disappointed. First, the location is great, being close to McGill University, St. Catherine Street and Central Station. Then the lobby is chic and dramatic with a wall of glass, beautiful flower arrangements, a fire place... More

well located and properly built so its modern features stand the test of time well. Very nicely appointed room - although the see through into the bath is slightly un-nerving at first. On the other hand its light in there! Hard to fault as a classy boutique hotel in a good location. Not sure about the restaurant that served only... More

This is still an attractive place to stay in but the feeling of care and quirky choices which longtime regulars to the hotel will remember fondly (remember the love letter from your mattress awaiting you on the bed?) are now definitely gone. The feeling is much more impersonal, like a good but quite large hotel. Too bad. During my recent... More

We wanted to book something different... the location was great. But the hotel was over-priced. The lunch was a joke. Server staff were very polite and did their job well, but the kitchen served tiny portions of nothing tasting food. The room was fine - nothing to write home about. The 300CAD was a bit OTT as we got a... More

We stayed here for one night as a treat while visiting family. Having grown up in Montreal i had been to the Le Germain once before and had a wonderful time. Our stay here this last time wasn't as memorable as I wanted it to be. The room as nice, super clean, modern, a nice view. We paid close to... More

Whenever my husband and I are on for a weekend away from home, we choose this hotel. The service is really exceptionnal, the food is excellent (Daniel Vezinat's cuisine is incredible), the rooms are cozy, clean and beautifully furnished. I love everything about this hotel. I stayed at the property for a week in January and another week in February 2012. The service was consistently solid in all departments. Rooms are large and appear even more cavernous because of the high ceilings. The restaurant, Laurie Raphael, offers bold cuisine, featuring local Québec terroir - samplings of artisinal cheeses and mushroom foie gras were memorable. A... More

I've stayed at the hotel for business, and avent been disappointed. All the charm of the boutiques in Old Montreal, but centrally located. A great quiet room with good space to work and relax (I get the two doubles room, as the single bed rooms I understand are quite small). One thing to note is the shower/bath has a large... More
