Perfectly located on St. Ursule, one of the quieter streets surrounding the old city, Castel Francaise was as quaint as the city. The rooms are roomy, with nice but not tacky decor, with modern amenities (nice bathroom!) The breakfast is simple but of good quality, with hot food prepared by the hostess herself. Overall, you can't go wrong with this... More

My husband and I stayed at the Castel d'Amerique Francaise in October 2012 for 3 nights for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay and our room was beautiful. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, and the hostess was very nice and helpful. After breakfast she always chatted with us and gave us directions... More

Normally one expects to be greeted by one's host - but not at Castel!. When booking, you receive an entry code which allows access from the road to an inner lobby. Her one finds a named envelope with keys inside - one for the inner door, one for your room. So you don't get to see mine host(ess) until the... More

Nice hostess and staff. Good location. Lovely suite. But, the staff is family of owner and is reluctant. Location is not that important, given how small (and walkable) the City is. Breakfast was adequate. Pastry was frozen-defrosted. In 7 nights, there was no regular cleaning of the room, or making of the bed. I had to ask (and only bothered... More

I absolutely LOVED this place! There were a few problems, but all in all it is absolutely gorgeous. Careful while unloading luggage as there is no place really to park on the street. My Aunt and I parked the car in front of a dumpster with our hazards on to unload and while we were unloading our stuff in the... More

We were given the code to enter the building and information regarding our car. On entering the building there was an envelope with the key and information giving you the location of your room etc. Then you opened the second door........... And a beautiful entrance and passage welcomed you. Our room was through the kitchen and out the back (ecurie... More

While looking online to find a place to stay for our 3 nights visit to this area, there were so many B&B places to choose from that the choice was difficult. After reading so many nice things about this B&B, I decided to rely on the comments made from others here on T/A and booked here. Great idea. As is... More

I booked this property because my 15 year old daughter is going to France and we wanted to give her a chance to experience Quebec City and use her French. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The only complaint I would have is that there was lingering cigarette smell in the room which I did not like. However, the... More

This B & B is in a great location in Quebec City within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants and shops. However, the long, narrow staircases are difficult to navigate with luggage. Also the room seemed a little worn with chipped furniture. The continental breakfast was fine but the breakfast room was small and crowded. And you must... More

We stayed 4 nights while visiting family and friends and the sights of Old Quebec. This is the perfect spot to stay. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. I was so surprised that you couldn't hear the other guests or any noise outside. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was terrific. Lots to choose from. We were lucky... More
