We had a room with a fantastic view on the Saint-Laurence River, the outdoor parking is very practical because it is very close to the hotel, the room was equipped with a fridge, the hotel is quiet because there is very little traffic around being at the dead end of the streets, from the hotel we used to walk around... Aside from Chateau Frontenac and Clarendon Hotel, Vieux Quebec is filled wih smaller 2 and 3 star hotels. We decided to stay at Chateau de la Terrasse Dufferin because mainly because of its location. It is literally next door to Chateau Frontenac which is a sight to behold in the daytime and night. Terrasse Dufferin is literally right outside the... More

Stayed 2 nights at this 1880's hotel right on the water and 100 feet to the Chateau Frontenac and right next to a park. Our room was priced at $160 was a large room, 2 queen size beds plus a couch and balcony and fridge. It was a delight to sit on the balcony overlooking the river with some wine... More

We stayed two nights in room #9. Large windows facing the St. Lawrence and the boardwalk. Tops of the windows were stained glass...beautiful. We had a small kitchen with frig, microwave, coffee pot, living room with TV and pull out queen for the kids, bathroom with tub and master. Our room was air-conditioned, but it was weak.....however, we opened the... More

I feel bad for those who stayed but have a negitive view of the Chateau. We have stayed in room 14, 14 times since 1988. The rooms are modest but were upgraded a couple years ago under new ownership. It is an old style European hotel, switched to B&B statis with the new owner. The view from our private baclony... More

This is a lovely hotel. I suppose you could pay a fortune and book a room in the Chateau Frontenac next door. Or for a fraction of the price, if you bokked early, you could get a room at the Chateau Terrasse Dufferein with a balcony withe same views overlooking the St Lawrence, friendly service and a good breakfast. A... More

For visitors there is no better hint as to accommodate for the weekend to watch the people walking on the Promenade just in front of the Chateaux and observe the busy river traffic from the balcony of Room 16. Even the French breakfast is served on a balcony of the reception with a great view.

but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We spent 3 nights here last week and found the accommodations more than adequate when you consider the price and the location. The building is advertised as being "an old lady of 180 years" and that added to the charm of the experience. The rooms (2 on the 2nd floor - room 7... More

The best way to describe the interior of this hotel is dated. The common areas and rooms were probably fitted out about 30 years ago and really could do with a bit of modernisation. They are adequate however you won't get the luxuries of a modern hotel here. Things like hair driers, air conditioning etc are not standard. Everything is... More
