Room was dirty! Witnessed how they would not open this VERY remote hotel up for a late arriving guest. Restaurant food bland with little to no flavour, one nasty little round woman running the entire show, from the front service to the kitchen, barking orders at other staff and did not care if in the ear shot distance of customers.... few minutes late, they will not sell me gas, there are "call out fee" in many northern location, but hotel room + your food is worth more. and they will not let you out early in the morning, you supposed to get breakfast... and the rooms are terrible and so expensive. will only stop there for breakfast during the winter.... We stopped at Eagle Plains on our way home to Inuvik. The restaurant and hotel is like something out of a horror movie. It was built in 1978 and hasn't been updated since. The staff are creepy, rude, and completely ignore you until you force them to speak to you. I couldn't wait to get back on the highway. We... More

We have stayed here three times before. Just an over night. This time we did something different. We stayed three nights and went north of the Arctic Circle for wildlife. We had fantastic and very close encounters with grizzlies. Rooms are large. View out dining room was awesome with fireweed. Staff was friendly and helpful although very busy. Food in... More

We stopped here after decided to split driving the dempster highway into two day. The hotel would look much better if it was updated, but it was clean, and comfortable. Considering they truck the water in, and run it by generator it is a very neat spot. The restuarant was reasonbly priced and good food. Gas was available, ice and... More

OK - there is nowhere else to stay if you want to stop half way up the Dempster Highway, but our experience of this hotel was really positive. The room we had was plenty large enough and more fully furnished than many other hotel rooms we have been in recently (queen bed, two easy chairs, comfy armchair, couple of coffee... More

This hotel is located not far from the Arctic Circle and very isolated. We expected to pay a reasonable price..it was $150/nite.. But, the heat didn't work.. the internet didn't work.. the phones didn't work. The worst part about it is the people running it (who were rarely available) made no appologys.. just treated it as if I shouldn't care... More

Considering it is in the middle of nowhere, it is really good. Staff was really accommodating with food and stuff although we had arrived just after the kitchen had closed. One manager in the morning was a bit rough around the edges, but otherwise, it's a good place. More

Not a bad hotel,if you can get in. Registration shuts down at approximately 10PM I'm told.We arrived there at just after 1AM and the front lobby was deserted.Knocks on the door and telephone calls were fruitless. We were forced to stay in our vehicle in front of the hotel in sub zero weather. Next day the guy who works at... More

there is no other place I would stay when driving the Dempster highway to/from Inuvik! The rooms are a bit outdated, but clean. What can you expect more than 200 miles from the nearest paved road? They even have wireless internet! The staff was very nice and it is definitely an oasis in the wilderness when you arrive and stop... More
