We stayed with Gerard and Sophie who made us very welcome in their beautiful home. This is a lovely french country type house and is part of the chambre d'hotes option accomodation (which in my opinion are always a far nicer place to stay than hotels when in France). My husband and I stayed 3 nights in La Lucasserie. 3.5 km from Saumur, We rented bikes and cycled in and out of Saumur (3.5km), we also ate one night in a little restaurant in St Hilaire Saint Florent, (location of the house) - but generally, there is not much in this little village apart from several 'caves' or wine... My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a lovely stay. The owner and her daughter were very helpful and friendly.
