Not being one to stay in el cheap-o backpacker place, I've become more accustomed to staying at mid range place. Over the years, I find myself coming back to the Sheraton in Sengiggi. Much much worse places are charging 600-700k IDR a night, with the Sheraton slightly higher, but miles better in condition and service.
