I had a really lovely meal here, meeting up with friends. the food i basic pub fare but portions are generous, food is really tasty and the service was really quick too. The bar staff were also really friendly and accommodating about my gluten-free requirements, disappearing off to the kitchen to check whether a couple of things were gluten-free and... More

Traditional pub with traditional ambience. There was a good choice of home cooked food and cosy real fires. The cooked breakfast was very nice with excellent poached eggs and good quality sausages and bacon etc. Some fresh fruit would have complemented the early breakfast for walkers and the packed lunch was fine. The bedrooms were a little dated but clean... More

We were planning a walk in the Ribble Valley but couldn't find a pub on route. We drove up to Horton-in-Ribblesdale and happened by the Crown Hotel. It is a fairly standard pub with a simple menu. The experience was made by the friendliness of the staff, chatty and helpful. We changed our planned walk and drove up to the... More

To be honest, there is no point listening to people onn this site, you have to go and make your own judgement of the place, to me there was nothing wrong with the Crown Hotel, ok, it wasn't 5 star, but you don't expect it to be, the rooms were clean, food and service was escellent and everybody was nice... Everything you have read about "The Management" is true. Nothing was too little trouble. For example why our group of 10 were not allowed to move two tables so we could eat together after completing the 3 Peaks remains a mystery. Bizarrely we were told not to use the toilet in the Bar in the morning at the narrow window... More

This lady was part of a group who was staying with us and the other half were staying elsewhere in the village. The group were booked into eat with us on their second night here after doing the 3 peaks. At the time of booking they were told that it would be on 2 seperate tables which was ok with... More

Ignore the professional moaners - the accommodation at the Crown is value for money. It's not 5 star but it's not 5 star prices - some people just want everything but don't want to pay for it. I think that the accommodation is good value for money, the food is very good and the beer excellent. The many notices referred... More

We thank you for taking the time to write a review about us, it makes us feel that we are doing things right. We do our best to try and make sure all our guests have an enjoyable stay, but obviously we dont seem to be able to please some, although these thankfully, are in the minority. More

There are many positive things one could comment on about the traditional pub and this side of the business is charm personified. Real fires, real ales and home cooked hearty style food. The pub was crammed full of domino playing locals but there was still a welcoming warm atmosphere for us tourists. We paid £80 for a one night stay... More

I had a very nice evening at The Crown as a base for a good run round the 3 Peaks in the snow in January. It's a great location for just being able to walk 200m to the hotel from Horton train station and then be straight onto the Yorkshire 3 Peaks route. I received a warm welcome, good homemade... More

This is a classic stone-built Yorkshire Dales pub, run by a hearty and no-nonsense Yorkshire couple who provide a good welcome and good humour. Two bars, the larger scruffs bar being for walkers, cavers and other folk who like to get messy outdoors. Open fires in both. The room we stayed in between Xmas and New Year was large and... More
