Although we hadn't booked we had a very warm welcome from Melva and Hilton who were excellent hosts. The rooms were spotless with ensuite and plenty of very helpful material to guide us on our trip. Melva provided us with maps and advice on local eateries and an excellent breakfast the following morning. We would highly recommend a stay at... More

Hilton and Melva welcomed us into their beautiful home like we were old friends, gave us a fantastic room and fed us superbly. Certainly the best stay in New Zealand and we couldn't recommend this B&B highly enough.

What a wonderful homestay -we wished we had stayed for more than one night, and would certainly return when we come back to NZ! Our room was enormous and beautifully furnished with a seaside theme of ocean blues and turquoise. We had a large shower room and a good kitchenette area, where every possible need was catered for. But what... More

Great lodgings - spacious and very clean room, amazing cooked breakfast and was fun sharing fishing stories with hosts over a glass of wine. Was very nice to get a personal email re our booking. They even remembered us from a previously canceled booking the year before.

We spent 3 wonderful days and evenings in November with Melva & Hilton at their fun B&B. Their house and the spacious suite we stayed in are lovely (nearly brand new!) Melva is a great chef using so many ingredients from her gardens. (Make sure you get a personal tour of her gardens.) We learned so much about Kiwi life... More

We were on a honeymoon trip around New Zealand for two weeks. We stayed in various B&B properties around the country, but the one run by Melva and Hilton is truly THE BEST one we've experienced. It is not only because of their kiwi hospitality, delicious food prepared by Melva, long talks with a glass of wine, but mainly because... More

We are so glad we kept as many ponga ferns as we could because even on a damp day they bring such a brightness into our world and at this time of year with new fronds they positively glow. We have one bee hive now so we hope next year we will have our own honey to share at breakfast.... More

Thank you Melva and Hilton for your wonderful hospitality and enthusiasm. We stayed two nights enjoying the comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, all spotlessly clean, and the natural bush setting of your home. Our room was private and of a good size; we felt relaxed and refreshed. The tasty and genereous breakfast was enjoyed all the more by your company... More
