We have visited Casa Alvarada many times and highly recommend it in every way. Mara and Jupiter are gracious, generous, and extremely professional hosts. They are well-informed about the whole region and share their knowledge and their lovely home in a special way. We cannot imagine anyone not being impressed with what they offer -- it is not just a... More

We stayed at Casa Alvarada on our way from San Miguel de Allende to Manzanillo. The experience was very comfortable and Jupiter and Mara made us feel welcome. We had booked a sunset tour of volcano and coffee plantation before arriving and we took off right away after checking in...the tour was great!! We enjoyed seeing coffee operations in the... More

Casa Alvarada offers its clients the opportunity to explore Mexico from the inside, through the vision of your hosts. And I doubt that Jupiter and Mara conceived it simply as a hotel, but more as a reflection of their passion for Mexican art, food, music, literature and of course, their beloved Comala. There are just 3 rooms surrounding a sunny,... More

Our hosts Jupiter and Mara made us feel welcome - they are very knowledgeable about Comala and surroundings, and are very willing to share their knowledge with their guests. The perfect place for a... More

My husband and I were in Manzanillo for a month and thought we’d take a trip to Comala. Casa Alvarada Bed and Breakfast came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. I made the reservation by email and everything was very efficient. We took a bus to Colima from Manzanillo and then a taxi to Comala and the B&B. Mara... More

We liked everything that Casa Alvarada had to offer. The beds were so comfortable. The hosts were exceptional and the breakfast was # 1. We will recommend this B&B to other friends and family. Casa Alverada is a true expression of Comala's Pueblo Magico

Room clean if not huge. Not the Ritz but the bed was one of the most comfortable i've had in Mexico. Breakfast first class. Hosts answered all our questions in excellent English. Jupiter does a first class tour. Very professional in all respects. Bill & Linda (BC).

After finding this place online, it sounded like a great place and the pictures looked amazing. Upon our arrival it was quite a disappointment and NOT at all what it looked like in the pictures. The so called "private garden and patio" wasn't much more than a dirty slab of concrete full of leaves, dust and cobwebs. The hanging bed... More
