The Catlins are really beautiful. Better plan one or two nights in the area. For this reason this park is a very good idea (although there aren't as much holiday parks than elsewhere). Reception was very friendly. Compared to other holiday parks (not only the Top10) it falls off a bit. Facilities are a bit older (especially the kitchen) and... More

After a pretty bad start at reception, which. Was later apologised for, thank goodness, we stayed the night and had great facilities at our fingertips. Bathrooms are very nicely appointed and spotless. We got our laundry up to date and had a most peaceful night.

Loved it! The staff were fantastic and very friendly. Cabin we had was set looking over the rest of the holiday park, amenities were great! Camp lounge area well equipped with plenty of information brochures for travelling around catlins/southland etc. Only downside was the camp kitchen didn't have an oven. Café/restaurant was overpriced and low quality meals, and closed earlier... More

We brought a Motorhome from England to spend 2 months travelling the whole of New Zealand with the plan to sell it before we return. We stayed here at McLeans Falls and had the best meal so far on the trip. Without a doubt the pasta dish was the best I have ever tasted [even my own and i have... More

What a surprise to find this immaculately presented holiday park in such an out of the way place. We had a campervan and had our two fluffy white dogs with us. After being told not to take our dogs into Christchurch's Cashel Mall (I was under the impression that they were desperate for tourists) and then to find the delightful... More

This was such a great surprise when we arrived, the staff were welcoming and the whole camp was an amazing place to relax. The family chalet we stayed in was really well equipt, spotlessly clean and had everything our family needed. The chalets are really well laid out so you felt quite private. The kids and dog had plenty of... More

Stayed two nights while visiting the area. Stayed in a motel unit with ensuite and shared kitchen facilities. The room was okay, the bathroom in need of a bit of a spruce up. The weather was particularly warm, but you can't leave the windows open at night , there are lots of bugs. Tea and coffee makings in the room,... More

We stayed in a motel room with shared kitchen facilities, I would probably call it more of a cabin with ensuite. Very dated, showers and bathrooms not really up to scratch for the price. Wish we had spent more and got a chalet but they were quite a bit more expensive. Didn't really feel that $135 for the motel room... More

The motels are a piece of original Kiwiana so wanted to leave the bathrooms as original, sorry if you felt they were in need of a spruce up, but the theme is "retro-Kiwi". They are spotlessly clean and the windows in the bathroom are insect proof, so you can leave the windows open on a hot night. The new chalets... More

We stayed in one of the motel rooms with shared kitchen facilities. We found the accommodation adequate and clean. The shared kitchen facilities were clean and well equipped - no problems. The larger self contained cabins appeared worth the extra costs. Staff were helpful and we enjoyed our meal in the Whistling Frog Restaurant but found it a little expensive.
