Had a marvellous stay at Swallows Roost for my birthday. Accommodation warm and immaculate. Exceptionally friendly and helpful. Made a lovely birthday breakfast. Beautiful views over Port Ellen. Very handy for the ferry terminal

A fantastic B&B with stunning views of Mull of Kintyre and Giants Causeway in Ireland. Our hosts for the weekend, Ralph and Mary, are fantastic people, offering to do anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We felt as if we had booked a cottage for the weekend rather than a B&B as we had full use of... More

the best "home away from home" experience. I will always cherish my trip throughout Scotland with Swallows roost being its highlight. Susan, the Host was very gracious and helped us above and beyond. I have never felt more comfortable away from home and I have traveled extensively. Cheers to Susan and her dedication

Read my title above, sounds like marketing guff from some 5* hotel doesn't it? But to be honest that's what I felt like when we left this great B&B. Sue is so warm and friendly you forget that you're actually a customer. She had my wife and I chatting with her over a cuppa (or a wee dram in my... More

Susan and David very interesting and cheerful people. When staying at their house you get more than fascinating view to the wide sea with near lighthouse and islands on the horizon, also included homelike treatment and a company to spend rainy evening. They don't put restrictions on and make enormous yummy breakfast. And last but not least - if you... More

Had an amazing stay at the Swallow's Roost. The house is fantastic, and has stunning views across to Port Ellen. We were made to feel so welcome and at home instantly, nothing was too much trouble at all. We were treated as new friends rather than paying guests! Would not hesitate in strongly recommending staying here.

Had a lovely time at Swallow's Roost. Beautiful setting and very friendly people. A very peaceful spot. Easy to get to from ferry terminal at Port Ellen and a great base from which to explore the island.

After a long journey, firstly I was hit by the location, wow, what a view; then quickly by the warm welcome. It's a brand new property with all of the modern quality facilities you'd expect from a good quality hotel, let alone a B&B. But to be fair, the label B&B sells Swallows Roost quite short. The Middletons essentially made... More

It's a bit of an adventure to get up to Swallow's Roost but well worth the effort and we were warmly welcomed by the Middletons to their beautiful home. The room was huge with a superb view out over the bay to Port Ellen and they provided everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely comfy bed and although it... More
