We had a most enjoyable three night stay in this beautiful part of the Spanish Basque country. The little hotel and accompanying restaurant are run by two generations of a Basque family, mother Elizabet and daughters Lorea and Hazaiea. They run them with enthusiasm and close attention to their guests requirements. Our room was very comfortable and nicely furnished in... More

I can only add to what others have said. The restaurant is very good, imaginative and well prepared Basque dishes, a genuine surprise. Both food and wine are very well priced. This is a place we will be returning to.

Or friends recommended this small b&b in the Basque region. What a great place. Clean as a whistle and very quiet. Most importantly, the attached restaurant is a true find. Well worth searching it out. Breakfast was more than adequate and the location is convenient to serve as a base to explore the many surprises of Basque Country.

We really enjoyed out stay here. Donamaria'ko Benta is a hotel/inn near the Basque speaking village of Donamaria. The accommodation is characterful and charming. The landlady Elixabet is very hospitable. Although it might appear to be off the beaten track there is lots to see and do in the area. The Baztan Valley, the gardens at Bertiz, the walk to... More

Luzuriaga-Badiola family settled in Donamaria with a plan:To realise the dream of living in the country, specifically in Navarra. To restore a beautiful 19th-century stone house and open its doors to people who wish to eat and stay there. Starting with the restaurant, the following year they opened the small hotel in the adjoining house and, in this way, the project came to be known as Donamariako Benta, a rural hostel with a restaurant.Imanol and Elixabete created this way of life and now guide their daughters, who witnessed the whole process. This no doubt influenced them to obtain academic qualificationsLorea, who has a degree in tourism, serves guests in the dining area of the restaurant in a professional and warm manner, making tourists and regular clients feel more comfortable during their stay. She speaks 3 languages.Haizea has a diploma in cookery from Luis Irizar and, after working at various restaurants on the mainland, manages the restaurant in a wise and enthusiastic manner. ... more   less
