Thanks to Sharon and Mark for a great stay with warm hospitality. The Lodge is situated in a lovely spot, complete with farm animals (and Hercules the giant cat!). We stayed in the England room, which is huge and has a lovely view over the front of the property. Proper cooked breakfast, and guest lounge/computer to use at any time.... More

Our 2 night stay was wonderful. Mark and Sharon were fantastic hosts. The house are garden are immaculate and our room was very comfortable. Not only did we enjoy gorgeous breakfasts, but also some inside knowledge on the local fishing scene. Castle Hill Lodge exemplifies why it is is often a more enjoyable experience staying with welcoming and interesting people... More

Castle Hill Lodge is just magic: Sharon and Mark are really good hosts: Welcoming but not OTT. They even let us share the place on Christmas day and use their BBQ. A comfortable, relaxed world [close enough to Queenstown] and, yes, that bath is great! Not forgetting Hercules the magnificent. It suited us down to the ground. More

Mark and Sharon are fantastic hosts and are extremely welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon nap while hubby used some local knowledge provided by Mark and went fishing just down the road. Their home is beautiful, very warm and comfortable, and our room was lovely with the most amazing bath we have ever seen. The Lodge would be... More

Mark and Sharon were excellent hosts in every respect and I can safely say that my holiday fully lived up to expectations. From the pick-up at Queenstown airport upon arrival, through to sorting out my fishing licence for me,... More

The Upper Mataura River basin is a world-class fly fishing destination and this is by far the nicest accommodation available in that area. Besides the Mataura, the Oreti, Nevis, and numerous smaller streams are nearby. The owners Mark and Sharon are super-friendly and quickly make you feel at home in their home. The bedrooms and amenities are all top-notch and... More
