Very friendly staff and owners. Very Comfortable accomodation. Excellent food and wine. Excellent surrounding sceneries. Those kin on walking expeditions, can do short walks or long walks. Nearby beutiful Ullwater lake side drive/walk. Memorable experience. Hope to repeat the experience. There is no swimming pool but leasure centres are not too far.

Stayed here for a weekend with my fiancee. The pub is located in a perfect part of the world, right on the doorstep of Lowther park. Lots of walks and beautiful scenery to be had. We found the rooms to be very comfortable and had everything we needed. Eileen was very helpful and friendly and we felt well looked after.... More

We stayed at the Queens 3/5/13 and what a lovely warm welcome we received. A VERY dog friendly place which is hard to find, we were even given the larger room to accomodate us & our 2 dogs. Eileen could not do enough for us and when we left something at tne hotel it was no trouble to send it... More

We stayed here for two nights and could not have been happier, the staff are superb - making us feel at home and could not do enough to help our stay be so enjoyable. We were staying to attend a wedding reception at the the near by Knipe Hall, The Queens Head was perfect with it's location in the picturesque... More

We booked just one night (Friday) as a birthday treat and the hotel far exceeded our expectations. PIcture the drive through the Lakes and on through the grounds of a beautiful estate with castle as you drop down into Askham. The Inn has ample parking and even through we arrived later than expected they had kept our table booking for... More

I had intended to have lunch in Penrith, but was diverted to The Queens Head by the sign on the board outside saying 'Award Winning Chef.' I wasn't disappointed. The dee-fried Brie in Beer Batter on a bed of lettuce and berry sauce was delicious (and very well presented, if that matters to you.) The main course of Chicken Balti... More

We have just returned from a short weekend visit, and our experience was so lovely it was defintiely worth sharing. Limited by the choice of hotels we could consider due to only wanting one night, and having two children and two dogs, we stumbled across the Queens Head Inn by chance. However, it turned out to be our great fortune,... More

What can I say. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Queens Head. I've known the pub for the last 3 years. The first two years it was my local, as I lived in Askham. The past year it has been a meeting place for my friends and I when I come up to visit. This time it was my home... More

Stayed here for one night to do some walking in the hills. Was in the Tan room which must have been refurbished since the review below as I did not see any mould in the shower and the bed was comfortable. Yes, room is on the small side but this is a traditional country pub and so this should be... More
