“Hidden gem with fantastic pub”

We booked last minute for one night when our car broke down in Golden. The (new) owner, Bill, was extremely helpful and accommodating, even printed contact info for the car dealership for us upon our arrival. “Bit of a disaster...”

We thought we'd do a couple of days of real luxury, as expected with these prices, but alas, that was not the case. You had to take off your shoes upon entering the hotel. No complimentary slippers, nothing, so, dirty and wet socks... The room looked gorgeous. But... No clothes hangers(that was easily remedied), but no other cupboard, so, do... More
