Having had a problem here on our last visit see my review, decided to give in another go. Called in on our way back from Nort Wales. Site remains run down service station and cafe remain closed down and boarded up. Car park of the lodge messy and building from the out side still looking shabby after checking out and... More

We booked at Monmouth lodge on the basis of the onsite Little Chef but instead we found a demolition site that looked like a ghost town. We had to walk several miles in the rain to find the nearest eatery and this was across busy roads with 2 small children. Not only was there no onsite dining there were no... More

We stayed here last minute. The room was nothing special but spacious and clean. Lovely big comfortable bed. In the middle of nowhere but can get take away delivered. The little village of Raglan a 5 min drive or get a cab as there are 3 pubs! All in all good for the price and staff are very helpful, especially... More

We booked online on the morning we were travelling up from Somerset. Hotel looked OK on the site on my Blackberry, and indeed looked as if it were a quant thatched roof chalet type hotel. On arrival a scruffily dressed young man was on reception wearing a baseball hat. (Is this new uniform?) the area was very dirty but as... More

We are seasoned travelodge customers, aided by the fact that you can get 2 adults, 2 children and a dog all in the same room for under £20 a night. The minute we arrived at this one I wanted to leave. The location is truly awful. It's on a dual carriageway and both their website and our satnav tried to... More

We read the reviews and thought that we would risk it as we were going to a wedding and hence planned to spend very little time in the hotel itself. The room was tired but the sheets were clean and it wouldn't have been soooo bad if it wasn't for the smell. I don't know what the smell was exactly... More

Bed and a shower for £19 per night, can't complain A few local kebab shops will deliver to your room Cheap and cheerful, can't really knock it Although when you leave if your heading towards Abergavenny don't follow your sat nav as it will take u the long way, go left at the car park and there's a back country... Just got back from a trip here, it was a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean, Raglan castle is only a 5 min drive away and the beaches of Wales are also not too far by car. We paid just £15 a night for a family room, i can't even get a night on a campsite for that!... More

From a Travelodge you wouldn't expect anything exceptional just a basic standard of accommodation but they didn't even manage that. The hotel is in a closed down services and felt pretty desolate and quite eerie. The reception smelt of stale cigarette smoke and staff seemed to occupy the first bed room which had the door open and the TV going... More
