From the moment we arrived until the time we left, time suspended itself... The welcome extended by Liz, the old cottage full of character, period furniture, old books, personal artifacts, the real fire, tea and home made welcoming cake upon arrival; the pastoral view from our spacious room overlooking the pond inhabited by busy hens and a pheasant puffed up with... My friend Ruth and I were so thrilled to discover the picturesque Farthing Corner bed and breakfast... we had been to the Paralympics to watch my daughter and son-in-law compete and this was a much need respite from the frenzied London experience! ( we were there to visit Stonehenge as well) Farthing Corner was even better in person than I... More

A beautiful B&B, friendly and well appointed. Greeted with a warm welcome, then coffee and cake was very much enjoyed. Warm comfortable bed awaited us after a dinner at the local pub. Liz is a charming host as well as knowledgeable in what there is to see in the area. Highly recommended.

Arriving late Sunday night, the owner, Liz, was more than accommodating, helping with directions and a warm welcome with a cup of tea. I stayed two nights, and the location was perfect for attending the Carol Thanksgiving service at Winchester cathedral on Monday and the KRH Medals parade on Tuesday in Tidworth. I will definitely return with my husband this... More

My wife, daughter and I recently stayed with Liz at Farthing corner and had a wonderful time. Liz welcomed us on arrival with tea and cake which was really appreciated after 36 hours of round the world travel! We were also treated to a very tasty home cooked meal and dessert that night before climbing into very comfortable beds. The... More

From the tea and cake on our arrival, to the fantastic breakfast of home made sausages and locally sourced products, including lardy cake (which we took on our walk) the six of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Farthing Corner. Liz was charming and informative and helped us with our map reading to return to the Clarendon Way to complete... More

My wife and I stayed at Farthing Corner on a trip we took throughout most of England and Wales. We stayed in the Cottage which is an outbuilding to the main B&B. I would underline that if it was simply cleaned more thoroughly it would have been a cute place to stay, provided you like being in the country and... More

Farthing Corner was truly sensational. One of the very best b and b we have stayed in. The house dates back to the1400s and is magnificent. The countryside around was simply stunning as was the inside of the house. A huge bedroom with many homely touches including a teddy bear sitting on the bed reading a book! Spotlessly clean and... 15 minutes off the A303 takes you into a pastoral delight. Picture perfect thatched cottage/house set in lovely gardens with immaculate lawn and bountiful herbacious borders. Beautiful back garden leading to pond which must be gorgeous in the spring with bluebells. Chickens pottering around the back and producing excelent eggs for breakfast. Inside the rooms are cosy, tucked upstairs. Comfortable... More

We couldn't have asked for more from our 3 night stay for a nearby wedding. A fantastic breakfast at whatever time we wanted was usually finished off with a long chat with Liz. She is well travelled and the common areas of the house are interspersed with trinkets and interesting paintings. We stayed in the 'garden room' which came with... More
