I nearly fainted when I saw the price, but the stay was worth every cent. Never had I imagined to se that many bears on one spot. The were grissleys and black bears. Some single others with cups, one mother had 3 cups! All fishing for salmon. I got 400 fotos! The accomodations were very good, food and drink abundant... More

The bear watching experience was certainly once in a lifetime for us, but only because we'd never repeat the experience with GBNTs. For those unaware, the experience is a sedentary viewing experience (totally unlike safari) where guests sit in a hide for hours in the hope that wild bears – with a thousands of acres to roam – decide to... A great three days, bears, seals, hummingbirds and humpbacks amongst many other forms of wildlife, all the staff at the lodge were very helpful and friendly and made you feel welcome. The guides were very knowledgeable and made sure your visit was safe and informative. The standard of the food was better than many high class hotels we have stayed... More

the float plane trip to start with gave us a beautiful view of the rainforest, then we we came into view of the lodge, fantastic setting! All the staff were there to greet us at the start of the most fantastic experience viewing wildlife in their natural habitat. Right from the beginning we were made to feel as if we... More

We travelled a great distance for the trip of a life time and were crowded into a tiny lodge sharing 2 bathrooms with 10 guests. Everyone came inside at same time so wanted to use facilities at same time. Way too crowded. Was very expensive therefore you should have some space. Saw a few bears however saw many more on... More

From start to finish, the staff at Great Bear Lodge did everything they could to make the trip an exciting and memorable one. A comfortable room and very tasty food acted as a base from which we were taken to see grizzly bears ( several viewings of a young couple "courting" ) and black bears from the safety of a... More

Travelled from Australia to experience Canadian wilderness. Couldn't have done better. From the time the float plane banked and the rustic floating resort came into view to the time they pushed us back onto the plane for our reluctant return to reality, it was a holiday adventure of a lifetime. The resort is everything we had hoped for. it is not... My husband and I had a remarkable time at the Great Bear Lodge. Within an hour of arriving, we were out in the boat, heading to the river hoping to catch our first glimpse of wildlife and we were not disappointed, seeing black bears and eagles! We visited the Great Bear Lodge in October so the number of daylight hours... More

We came to BC with the main goal being to see Grizzly Bears and we saw plenty from the Great Bear Lodge. The whole approach was highly professional and the trackers very knowledgeable and interesting. This extended well beyond the bears and included every aspect of the surrounding environment. The research that is being done and the time and effort... More
