Booked a colleague into the Nyton for two nights, and was invited to join him for dinner and drinks. The menu was adventurous, and reasonably priced. The hotel on first sight was quite impressive. Closer inspection revealed that a rub down and paint job was needed along with a general clean and tidy up. The reception area was uninviting and...

I was initially concerned by previous reviews about this hotel but I decided to given them a call as they came recommended by another hotel which was fully booked. The person who I spoke to was very informative, helpful and open. She understood that because we were coming from a distance with a three year old child, our priority on...

Stayed here one night before a conference (held elsewhere). The manager had phoned me earlier in the afternoon to say their had been a problem with the payment (my company had paid over the phone upfront) but that it wasn't a big deal and we'd sort it out later. I didn't arrive until 10.30pm and when I arrived I was...

My daughter booked an appointment with the Nyton as a possible venue for her wedding we tagged along as well, guess what the guy had gone out for the day! We were up to spend some serious money but felt let down. The main room needed a good hoover, the paint work needed doinging and it looked very tired and...

Access to the Nyton is via a gravel driveway. For the car parking area you have to squeeze in between two buildings, if you wish to negotiate this.
The reception area is extremely out dated, with a dirty tiling floor. There also appeared to be an aroma of Chinese Food. Upon checking in the managers attitude was rather hostile, unfriendly...

Come back Basil Fawlty, all is forgiven!!.
They cocked up the booking, would not accept they had cocked up the booking, never apologised and so we had to drive all the way back home.
Rude and wholly unapologetic

Have stayed at the hotel on many occassions, and have always been welcomed warmly, and offered great food. I happen to like the people, there is never a dull moment! Rooms are always clean, yes the decoration is a little seasoned, but compare to other hotels in the area, who charge substantially more, I consider the Nyton great value for...

We had a team meeting for 7 people at this hotel with an overnight stay. It was a good location, pleasant surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, lunch and breakfast really good (sausage rolls at lunch time made by chef outstanding!). Staff and manager attentive to our needs.

Frightful, is the best description for this place. Unfriendly, amaturish, dated, dirty, cold and miserable are the best terms to give you a flavour.
On arrival, you had to order dinner imediately at reception. The bedroom was probably modern in 1973 but hadn't been decorated or updated since. Indeed, with the discovery of the last(?) guests razor and toiletries in...
