This was my second stay at Chester Backpackers. The place has been refurbished, repainted, and scoured. It is an old, old building with narrow, steep stairs--so don't expect a personality-less facility. The charm of the place and the friendliness of Al, the manager, make it an ideal base in Chester. This place is what we wanted, went on a university society tour and needed nothing more. We were able to have fun without being complained about, sit out on the terrace at night times and were only a little way away from the town centre which was great. I found this backpackers very helpful. It's close proximity to the city centre and rail station very useful. Clean and very friendly I had a very enjoyable stay with residents and staff on my two day stay, and even was invited to a delightful Sunday dinner by the manager, cooked by himself.
