Great value hotel, clean room, slight problem with the shower but was resolved very quickly. Staff all friendly and helpful. Food good quality and portion sizes. Free secure parking is a bonus. Well positioned, approx. 10 minute walk to the seafront and 5 minute walk to town. Entertainment each evening. Reasonable bar prices. Would stay here again.

Came back yesterday after having a wonderful Christmas break at this hotel, we went there last year as well. The staff are always so friendly and can’t do enough for you. We all got a Christmas present individually named. The food was really good and always well presented plenty of fresh vegetables. The homemade soup was delicious. Hard to believe that this hotel is only two Star. We went with Sunrise holidays. Alex our coach was also helpful and friendly. All in all I couldn’t fault our Christmas break at this hotel.

We knew the hotel was dated before we travelled but OMG, dated, it is like something out of the 60's and think that is the last time it had a good clean too. Our bedroom was like stepping back in time with the old wardrobe assembly over bed and bedding bought back then too. Our room was clean so cannot complain about that but the shower cubicle and curtain hav seen better days. The lady who served us in restaurant was lovely and always had a chat even though rushed off her feet. Same with the lady in bar, the tall one with long blonde hair. Friendly when collecting glasses and always had a quick chat The manager/owner of the hotel, Thelma? now she needs to lighten up and remember we are paying guests. On Saturday a coach of children arrived to do the Polar Express trip on Sunday, and the hotel handed out presents on Saturday night, but OMG this Thelma was shouting at everyone to sit down before Santa arrived. She scared the hell out of the adults with her shouting, so god help what the kids thought. No need for it, it was supposed to be a happy and exciting time for the kids wating for Santa, but she spoiled it with her constant shouting and barking orders. I dont like to criticise people on their dress code either, but she always looked scruffy too and as proproprieter of the business she could have made more of effort with her clothing. We enjoyed the weekend as we went with friends and spent most of the time down in the town . We also met some lovely people of the coach who we would sit with in the hotel for a drink or two before going to bed

Cheap & cheerful wkend!! Wasn't much "cheerful" about though apart from the ladies in the restaurant,Maureen you are a gem. Lack of sleep ruined my wkend though Beds were so uncomfortable 😭 Radiator in the room was so noisy 😭 Central heating left on throughout the night (unable to turn off) the room was unbearable to sleep in!! 2 out of 5 for cleanliness!! I didn't expect luxury but I did expect a good night's sleep & a clean bathroom! Unfortunately I won't be returning!

The staff here I found really nice. The kids and grown ups got a present each when we arrived which I’ve never seen a hotel do before. The bedroom wasn’t comfortable it was freezing also the shower was freezing then I read the sign saying you had to run the tap first. Despite doing this the water was still lukewarm and the shower was very weak. Then discovered there was no shower gel only a tiny bar of soap placed on the bed with the towels. I nearly gave up but had a nearly cold shower stepped into a freezing room then discovered the bed had no duvet only a sheet! I didn’t try to watch tv as it was tiny I just went to sleep waking up in the night due to the cold with no duvet to pull over me. Room very dated with old furniture. Could be nicer with a refurb and just providing the basics like duvet and shower products. Never seen this in a hotel before even makes travel lodge look top class. Shame because the staff are lovely and food as well just badly in need of complete refurb.

My partner and I have just returned from a 5 day stay using National Holidays. We had a lovely big room, towels changed daily. The hotel could do with a bit of updating but overall it was good. The food was very good , plenty of choice, and we complimented the chef. Plenty of choice which was served by excellent, friendly staff. There was entertainment in the bar every night and we had an excellent stay. The hotel is a short walk downhill to the seafront. A number 22 bus passes the hotel.
