We booked the Connaught Hotel a few months back as a venue for our celibration. We always stay with Best Western as you always get very good value for money. The rooms are always spotless and of a good quallity in fixtures and fittings. No nasty cracks in the walls or china in the ensuite. Nice tidy furniture and cumfortable... More

You are welcomed into the hotel by a friendly reception team. The rooms are well appointed and the barman was jovial. The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise - excellent ingredients and served by a human being. More

If you are considering the Connaught for a wedding - just do it - you won't have a thing to worry about (if you're like me, you still will, but the staff there will put your minds at rest and give you an excellent service). We booked the Connaught Hotel for our daughter's wedding reception. The wedding itself was in... More

Was immediately surprised to learn that this was a 3 star hotel. The location, facilities and staff service was of a much higher level. The restaurant delivered a 5 star dinner with the very best of service. Can only find good words for this particular hotel, many thanks to all the staff for making my father-in law and families weekend... More

I was attending a Conference at the Bournemouth BIC 13-15th April and booked the hotel via the tourist website based on their own website and independent reviews. I had a very good sized single room though the bathroom was tiny. I had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent, the menu was... More

The first room we were shown, a standard double, was very small. You could only open one door of the wardrobe because the other banged against the bedside table. When we expressed our concerns the staff were apologetic and offered us a choice of 2 other rooms which were bigger and had more wardrobe space. We found the reception staff... More

Dear Twizzle, Thank you very much for your very "positive" review and I was delighted to rread how reception responded so well to your requirements. The toiletries are in fact a branded product and relatively expensive but I will take a look and also consider the addition of a conditioner to the collection.Thank you also for writing that lovely review... I took my elderly mother to this hotel for a break over the early May bank holiday weekend, apart from difficulties I had on line actually booking the hotel, we had a very enjoyable time. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the food was excellent. Breakfasts were superb, and plenty of it. The evening meals were extremely good and... More

Paid extra for an executive room but really couldn't see what extras I was getting. Room was an OK size but full of the usual old granny furniture that Best Westerns always seem to have. No bath - just a big but rather feeble shower with watered down shampoo / shower gel. Rest of the hotel was tired - again... More

Dear Baz and Babs Thank you for your review and I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We stayed at the hotel in February 2012 - upon arrival the staff were all very nice and friendly which was a good start. When we first entered our room we were slightly disappointed at the very dated décor and facilities. The curtains & bedding were extremely 'retro' and 'bright' to put it politely! The alarm, phone, lights & all... More

Dear Lily and Matt I thank you for coming back to me re your stay at our hotel. I think you were in room 4 which is across an internal corridor from room 6 combining to make a family suite - the side door is only capable of being opened from the inside so it would not be locked. I... More
