Great for travelling on a budget. The rooms were basic but suited us as we only slept there. The location was perfect and we had a seaview as well as an ensuite. The rooms and showers were clean. Staff friendly and gave good advice and directions. The only thing to be aware about is parking, took me about a half... More

what can I say that you don't already know, stay here and you will catch either, aids, herpes or the plague. Rooms are small, showers don't work, staff rob from you, great location though but i'd rather stay in North Korea and commute More

The basis of this review is untrue and inflammatory. There is no record police or otherwise of this person being burgled whilst staying here and factually you do not get any of the diseases he has described from a hostel bedroom. More

Staff are friendly & helpfull, rooms are very basic but that's all you need. I wouldn't advise a quiet couple or family stating here as its in a busy location & most of the people staying are going out for the night, arriving back at the hostel from 2am onwards. Brilliant location & clean bedding. More

We recently stayed at the Grapevine Seafront for New Years Eve... We booked the hostel as somewhere cheap to sleep for a few hours after a late night!! After reading the previous reviews we were nervous as to what it'd be like. Ok, It's not up to hotel standards but that's exactly what you should expect... You get what you... More

The room was basic clean and warm, the hallways disgusting, the best bit was the cafe downstairs good food and staff were a laugh, got us into the clubs with two for 1 tickets. More

Spent two nights - 19th - 20th Oct. En-suite room for 4 persons was clean with reasonably comfortable bunk beds. I slept on lower bunk which made toilet visits easy. Good value at £15 per night. A bit noisy both nights from all night restaurant on ground floor. Altogether quite a decent experience for a 68yr old man. More

In recent years I have had the dubious pleasure of staying in some of the worst accommodation the developing world has to offer. From a mosquito infected hut in the Costa Rican jungle where the owner waved a carving knife in my direction when I disputed the bill, to a communist administered hell hole in Cuba and a Moroccan townhouse... I've stayed in many hostels over the years and have never had to pay £35 a night before so I expected a high standard..... I couldn't be more wrong, the lady at reception was unfriendly and bored, the shower had no hot water, the bedding had stains and the lock on the door didn't work properly. The window overlooking the... More

I stayed here with friends and we were left devastated by our experience. The staff were unhelpful and impolite, our room was dirty and our door could be opened with just a quick shove, no key needed. The windows were stuck open so we all enjoyed the sounds of Brightons nightlife until 6am even though we'd retired to bed hours... More

A terrible hostel. We had rubbish pilled up outside one of the rooms we had, a door that didn't lock, pillows and duvets that were falling apart and a wire mesh rather than a window in our room. All in all a terrible experience and I would never stay here again. More
