From the moment we were "checked in" to the moment we were "checked out" the conversation rarely strayed far from having a giggle about how terrible the hostel was. There was so much wrong that rather than a long drawn out review I thought it would be easier to note some of the terrible items experienced during our stay inclusive... More

I stay at Seadragon every time I visit Brighton and it's always excellent. The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them and they're really knowledgeable about things that are going on in the city. The location is also really good, right in the middle of town and opposite the beach. I would highly recommend this hostel... More

This is exactly what I would expect from a backpackers. Excellent location and very central. Our room was basic but clean. ( the manager informed me they were about to begin a refurb) Room rate was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to stay here again. More

This hostel is NOTHING like the website, which implies that it is a friendly family run business. Staff were very young and rather drunk when we checked in, and we didn't see much of them over the whole weekend. We stayed in 4 bed dorm, which was a box room with 2 sets of bunk beds, barely enough floor space... More

As the member of staff that checked you in I can happily confirm I was not 'drunk' nor had I anything to drink :) You booked your dorm room via Hostel World, it clearly states all our rooms are Mixed-Sex, you also said it was okay for you to stay in the smaller dorm via e-mailed previous to your stay.... This hostel was 'good' without being 'great'. I was in a twin room (one bunk bed) - the beds were comfortable. There wasn't anywhere to put things (cupboard, etc) but the room was small so there were few options. The shared bathroom was clean and everything in it worked. The kitchen was large and well-stocked. The communal area with TV,... More

Nothing major wrong with this hostel and would be happy to stay again if I was with a group of friends for a similar type of trip. First impressions were not good because despite it clearly saying on the website that the peace and security of their neighbours (it's a residential street) was paramount and they would not tolerate any... location - was good (not too many hills) about a 20 minute walk to pier. price - over priced for what it was. rooms - average. kitchen - good, looked new and well equipped. staff - ok nothing to complain, nor praise cleanliness - poor, the whole place could do with a scrub. There was rubbish in our room from... More

We have stayed at the Seadragon twice, Aug 2009 and Aug 2010, for Brighton Pride. It is by far the cheapest accomodation in the area over pride weekend. Lady who runs it is always really nice. Rooms have bunk beds. Shared bathroom on each floor (shared between two rooms i think). Maybe a 15-20 min walk along the sea front... More

I'm travelling alone so wanted to meet others, this was easy in the kitchen and living room. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place was clean at tidy, 1 minute walk from the seafront and a short walk to Brighton Pier, very close to supermarkets and foods from all over the world are all around. Would come back!! More

Went to Brighton for a girlie weekend. There was three of us so asked to book out the 4 bed dorm and said we would just pay the extra for the 4th bed between us. Upon arriving, it was obv there was an extra person in the room. Later on, we discovered it was a guy which was not ideal... More
