I've just come back from a night away at this hotel for me hen do. We were a group of eight girls and found the hotel clean and stylishly decorated. During our stay we used the spa, which was, again, clean and tidy. We also ate lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which was pleasant and tasty. I also... More

Booked this hotel ' blind' off lastmin.com as part of their ' secret hotel' site . So when I read the previous review I was apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised and pleased! From the start - despite the purple curtains - the young receptionist was welcoming and helpful . He engaged us well and was helpful. The room itself was... More

Booked this via Top Secret Hotels and was very worried by some of the reviews. I need not have been. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful - full marks to reception desk, one of the best I have ever encountered. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The bar and communal areas were very comfortable. My only critcism... More

Myself and a friend booked a spa break online this weekend. Having then read some reviews I was a bit worried- needlessly as it turned out. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful, and told me my friend was waiting for me in the bar. We had lunch booked, and while it was a bit slow in coming it... More

Visited this hotel with a girl friend for a Spa Day. The Spa was lovely - the staff were polite and the treatments relaxing. Our twin room was at the back of the hotel and was clean but very basic. The electrics and wiring in the room were very dodgy - with a lamp buzzing and crackling and at least... More

I stayed the night at the Lansdown with a friend. We booked a twin room and the chocolate spa treatment. The hotel is slightly out from the town centre (about a 10 minute walk) and is a grand 20's style hotel. It appears slightly shabby in places but overall has a nice feel about it. There appeared to be some... More

Run down, old. Internet doesn't work, no hangers in room, iron doesn't work, no ironing board. Room service & front desk don't answer phone. More

OK, so the Lansdown Place Hotel is not perfect, but having just come back from a 3 night stay there, I am not sure that some of the reviews below are entirely fair. We had read the reviews here on tripadvisor before we went and we were not sure what we would find. We booked this hotel as it was... More

My daughter booked this hotel for us for the night for a mother /daughter pre -wedding trip to a dress designer. On arrival at 9.30 am the car park was full so we ended up on the seafront at a cost of £20, otherwise it was a case of a public car park miles away or driving round and round... More

This was an oldie worldie peaceful and pleasant hotel. It was at the "quiet end " of the promenade but everything was within a short walk.We were able to park the car under the hotel which was great as no where to park on the roads. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean with everything working!
