Living near Rye this should be my first choice pub, however, one glass of wine, one pint of beer and two packets of nuts total cost £14. Far and away the most expensive pub in Rye for no good reason. On the plus side its quite trendy, but sadly at a price!

Quirky, friendly, good food, good beer. We stayed for a weekend and wish we hadn't bothered going anywhere else in Rye. More hotels should be this laid back and welcoming. The rooms are all individual and a really refreshing change from the 'standard' hotel. All staff seemed genuinely friendly rather than just doing their jobs. Best of luck to everybody at... More

Well. This place is a mixed bag if ever there was one. Some rooms are great and others not. Food is hit and miss. Staff erratic. I've stayed twice. The first time the food was terrible (except breakfast) and dinner arrived with a napkin left in the pie. I'm sure that whoever served it was drunk. Our room was pretty... More

We had wanted to visit Rye ever since reading the Mapp and Lucia books by E Benson, and we were not disappointed in this picturesque town. Travelling with a dog is especially easy when you stay somewhere like the Ship Inn. We were all made welcome and the room was simple, clean and comfortable. Our only disadvantage was the smell... We stayed in Rye over the bank holiday weekend and enjoyed every aspect of our trip. The Ship Inn was an excellent choice of accommodation, with lovely clean fresh rooms, a friendly informal welcome and tasty food in the bar. We ate here on our first night and thoroughly enjoyed the well-cooked indulgent menu. We were also impressed with the... More

On arrival my husband looked at me sideways, he was not that impressed. By the time we left he was urging me to put a review on Trip Advisor to say how excellent the whole weekend had been and how good the pub was. We were only able to book a small double room, which with two large dogs definitely... More

After having to leave our previous accommodation due to an electricity cut, we headed to Rye hoping to be able to find somewhere with availability for 2 nights. We parked up and headed straight for the first place we saw which was The Ship Inn. Luckily they had their last room available, and after a quick look we checked in.(Thank you,... More

A post Christmas break at the Ship Inn owners wisteria cottage was delightful. The small cottage a short drive out of town is bedecked with Vintage and Retro art and bric a brac. It had a lovely open fire, very comfortable beds, flat screen telly, plus a selection of games, books and dvds. Plus they had left amazing freshly baked Italian... More

This pub come b&b is a real find. Located in the centre of Rye you're close to everything. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and made us feel very valued, which is a rare feeling in some hotels! Food is fabulous, particularly the breakfast. Room was small but sweet, with quirky furnishings and a very comfortable bed. Love that we... More

We recently stayed at The Ship for 2 nights, the rooms were clean and bigger than I had expected given the website stating that they are small (though this could have been just the rooms we had). Nice quirky and modern decor and the breakfast was good. It is also in a great central location in Rye. We had room... More
