I wanted to review this as a restaurant, not an Inn , but could not do it in the restaurant section of tripadvisor, never mind. We have an old well-thumbed copy of "A quiet Pint" and we often travel from London to Gloucestershire and back by car , and often visit pubs from the book for lunch en route, In... More

Stayed at the new inn over the bank holiday,we found the food to be ok but the staff didn't seem bothered. Also they need to have a chat to the locals about crowding the bar and using bad language. This place could be very good but lacks enthusiasm.

Hi there, thanks for giving us your feedback. As the new general manager, I also believe we have the potential to be consistently excellent and am running new training sessions to re-establish our standards within the team. With regards to your comment about locals, The New Inn is a hub for our thriving Cotswold village community; we did see an... More

Has all the makings its quaint with beams everywhere but somehow its all not quite right. Small bar hogged by locals whose language left a lot to be desired.A reaonable bedroom but no shower just a hand held in the bath the bedroom had plenty of places to bang your head.Up two flights of stairs above the kitchen with smells... Many thanks for your review and positive feedback about the quality of our food. I'm sorry to hear the quirky experience we offer at The New Inn, as an old inn, was not for you though. If you choose to visit us again, we do have a more modern annex which is not above the kitchen yet still retains the... More

I called on Thursday 23rd May to book a table for Bank holiday Monday 27th May and take advantage of the set menu offer. I confirmed the booking for 4 people at 1pm and if the offer was definitely valid on the bank holiday Monday. I was told that the offer was definitely valid for the Bank holiday Monday. When... More

Visited with friends, when we arrived the bar staff did not acknowledge us, but once we went in to the restaurant, service was friendly. The barman's apron could have done with a turn through the wash though - it was rather grubby. The food was great, but when we ordered a bottle of wine, it was placed on the table... More

I would agree with LMS174's comments in the main. We were in room 5 and everything creaked- mainly the floor and the bed. This made us a bit self conscious about moving about late at night. The room had a very good selection of hot drinks, tea and coffee etc. There was also a small complimentary bottle of elderflower spirit. There... More

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay and kind words regarding the staff and food quality. Enjoyed a 2 night break through BuyAGift and worth every penny. Staff very pleasant, room across the courtyard from the Inn was very quiet, good ensuite shower/toilet. Tea/coffee making facilities, plus bottled water and an added plus was a small bottle of Alcoholic Elderflower Spirit. Breakfast menu was varied, included locally sourced produce - do try the sausages, they are... More

Fantastic location, beautiful countryside and delightful inn. The New Inn is not an hotel, it is an inn with rooms. The room we had could do with a bit of freshening up and the the bathroom needed maintenance. The staff were young and inexperienced, not their fault, they were friendly and helpful but a bit more training would be of benefit... More

Ratings and Reviews Share your experiences! Gave the New Inn five stars last October but although the same pros( good food, terrific breakfast, friendly if slightly haphazard service) was still there the ageing carpets and the health and safety defying flooring in the restaurant would have prompted one star's removal.Adding a 10% service charge to the restaurant bill then stating that it was "optional"... Thank you for coming to stay with us again and I’m very sorry you felt your visit wasn't as good as the last.
