Others here have compained that doorways were short, bathrooms small, no power-showers, etc. Now that I've stayed there, I understand those comments. But if you want all mod cons, go and stay in a Marriott in a big city somewhere! One has to understand that this property was built 600 years ago, so yes, some doorways you have to duck... More

The restaurant has been cleverly built in to this very old building and the food and service are excellent. The rooms are a little creaky and bathrooms slightly ancient but overall, particularly with their dinner, bed & breakfast packages represents very good value. More

The bar area has the biggest inglenook fireplace (with a real fire) I have ever seen and sets the scene for a great restaurant serving really top notch food. Friendly staff and excellent service in a really romantic/cosy 16th century setting. The rooms are quirky and individual and really add to the experience. It is a friendly and informal, (they... Had a wonderful lunch from the fixed menu. Cauliflower soup with alomonds followed by a sumptious slow cooked beef. My wife had a great risotto. Food cooked to perfection in a lovely setting and the service was also excellent. There's also a beautiful open fire to sit and enjoy a coffee. More

My husband and I first stayed at Wesley House Easter weekend 2010. My husband had what he referred to as the best meal of his life and so we returned for new years eve this year. Plush, beautifully lit, warm and inviting 16th century building right in the heart of winchcombe, possibly my favourite town in England! You have to... More

We stayed here in December and the christmas decorations were fabulous,we stayed in the almsbury room with the terrace, unfortunately we couldnt see the castle. The food was fabulous no complaints at all, the room was small but it is an old building full of character, if you want a large plush room and bathroom go and stay in a... More

As with other reviewers, we stayed in the 'Sketchley' room, to which the answer is - don't. In this day and age, this shouldn't be allowed.Small and almost claustrophobic, with a shower using one of those useless instant electric water heaters, it was a place to leave as soon as feasible. Dinner was pleasantly done, though quality was more at... More

We were asked this question a few times during our recent stay and the answer to this question is yes. However, we were hoping for a little bit more. On the plus side our room with the terrace allowed a great couple of hours just sitting with a chilled bottle wine taking in the view. The staff were attentive and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2011. There is no parking but a public car park is only about 200 yards walk after 'dumping' luggage into front door. The Inn has bags of character but its age means that space and layout are not ideal. There is a steep and difficult staircase to the rooms and our room... More
