When we arrived ,we had to pay in a very expensive car park, then the Receptionist informed us that if we paid with the Credit card, it would be a surcharge of £2.00, first time in my life that a "hotel" charges you for this. She never mentioned this when I made the booking, otherwise just in principle I would... More

Hotel is dated and needs refurbishing but its not bad for a night or two. The room was quite small but clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty poor and unappetizing. No idea what evening meals are like as they stopped serving at 7.30 due to them having a function for a local public school. Apparently chef couldn't... More

stayed here with my partner, she loved the pool!!. Place needs a bit of money spent on it but the staff more than make up for this hotels shortcomings. Buffet breakfast meant we were well fuelled up before heading north. If we were in the area again we would happily use this hotel as it was great value. More

I've stayed here a few years ago and vowed never to return, but I was due to travel on business with a colleague and he booked this hotel on a non-refundable tariff, so I didn't have much choice. I was right to be cynical - it hasn't changed one bit. The decor of the room was abysmal: 1. Wallpaper bubbling,... More

After reading some reviews on this hotel I nearly cancelled our stay, but as our stay was for 1 night we thought we would give it ago. When we arrived at the hotel the weather was awful it was windy and raining but when entering the hotel it feels really grand as we loved the big swivel door, that leads... More

this hotel is most convenient for city centre, rail station and ferries. my room was very claustrophobic and drab and the carpet was stained and grubby. toiletry bottles had not been topped up since last guest, and the dregs of bath foam which i used up were not replaced for my second night. tv reception was poor and some channels...
