Lovely hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Location was excellent, especially as we were allowed to leave the car in the car park after our check out time .Down side was the buffet breakfast, oh dear what a mess.... soggy hash browns, baked bean sauce all over the table cloths, dried up bacon, cold plates, lack of conserves...for a £100 +... The staff were unfailingly helpful. The bedroom (in the annexe) was roomy and very comfortable, the bathroom a generous size, as was the bath. The shower head dangled in its fitting do a shower would have been tricky. Gallons of hot water, however. The diniing room was very full and very warm, at breakfast, but we ate in the adjacent... This is the second time I've stayed at the Falstaff. I only rebooked this time as I couldn't get a room in any other hotel in Canterbury on the might I needed to be there. last time I was kept awake by noisy drunks letting off fire extinguishers, this time it was a couple who seemed to be auditioning for... We were upgraded upon arrival. Four poster bed (room 109). Fantastic rooms, great bed and quality fittings. However would take a good hour to run a bath. They seem to have a serious problem with water pressure. Maybe a one off. Breakfast excellent and staff good.

Two friends and I recently spent a very pleasant night's stay at the Falstaff. The hotel is very conviently situated within easy walking distance to the Cathedral and other places of interest. The hotel was wonderful with a few quirks that you would expect in a hotel built in 1403, but the quirks added to its charms. The rooms were... More

Booked the Falstaff back in Feb 2013 as an overnight stay as we were heading to the Marlowe for a show. The location is ideal as you can park behind the hotel and it was only a five minute walk through Canterbury to the Marlowe. It did take us a while to find the car park as the road layout... More

Stayed here for 3 nights over the recent Bank Holiday. Chose the Falstaff for its great location and available parking. As it turned out we had definitely made the right choice - the weather was glorious and we ended up leaving the car in the hotel car park for 2 days and walking the city !!. Reception had given us... We enjoyed a weeks stay in this very clean and comfortable hotel in one of their annexe rooms. Though a very old building we found it and the attentive staff first class as were the breakfasts. Rooms were well decorated and facilities excellent. Town is outside door also bus stop, rail station about 5 minutes walk. WiFi was adequate for... More

The Falstaff is a small hotel that ticks all the boxes should you need to stay in Canterbury. The rooms are not overly large, but certainly adequate, and exceptionally clean. There is tea/coffee making facilities with a varied offering of teas and coffees, a 32" lcd tv, and a clean en-suite with various complimentary toiletries. The breakfast is both generous... More

What a wonderfully quaint old hotel this is! This place has been an inn/hotel for the last 600 years, and you really see the heritage. That means: uneven floors, creaky floorboards, lots of places where I (6ft1) needed to bend down to avoid hitting my head. Not in the room by the way, I could get in and out of... More
